OK so this probably won't work for your guys, but maybe someone else would find this useful...a friend of mine just had a wedding recently and they gave their guys those Nike skateboard shoes that you can customize, and had their wedding date on the one side and I *think* the guy's initials on the other side (the only picture I saw had SB on the one side, which is the guy's initial, but also stands for SkateBoard so I don't know whether that was personalized or not).
Here is the best link I could find: Nike iD Mens Shoe
I'm not sure if that's the right place or not, but it'll give you an idea.
I would defnitely consider this for our guys (they're major shoe people), except my FI (and one of his groomsmen) works at adidas so that wouldn't exactly be a good idea!

LOL...I dunno, when FI and I moved in together, he had so much weird stuff - an etched deer mirror, b&w's of half naked women professionally framed, eew... just not my style at all...

I think your initial idea of sunglasses is the best.. Thats what we are doing. And I know your saying they aren't forever, but really, either is jewellry.. the girls most likely won't wear it forever, they will grow out of it, just like the guys will of the sunglasses.. Maybe thats just my opinion b/c I grow out of jewellry all the time!
I really liked that decanter idea too! Lots of people say flasks, which makes me cringe and think of high school cause thats what i got my high school grad date, but the decanters would actually really last through all fazes (sp??) of their lives..

we wound up going with Cross pens (they were about $150 each) and leather planner/journal things.

We are buying each GM's suit and tie for the wedding. We got them nice suit that they will be able to wear again...and it saves them money by not having to pay for them themselves!

I really like the decanters too. How about a monogramed money clip?

Honestly, going back to your initial post, if your BM and GM's are really outdoorsy fishing/hunting loving guys, a personalized hunting knife would be a great idea. My step-father is a moose hunter and fisherman and he LOVES his knifes and keeps them forever...he has one from the early 70's when he first started hunting. The only thing would be that you can't bring it down to Cuba with you...don't know how well that would go through customs ya'know....

We only have FI's brother to buy for, but he is the guy who has everything. I was thinking about a leather passport holder, and FI may just do an excursion or something with him in Mexico as a thank you.
