 | Stressed the F out... This might be a little whining... here I go.
So my sister dropped out of college back in the day and she has since gone back to school. She was set to graduate May 08. I am technically supposed to graduate in May 08 also. That would be my 4 year mark since I started college. Well during my 2nd semester I got preggers and during my 3rd semester I had my adorable cutie son. I managed to take online classes during that time and stay mostly on track. I also graduated from hs a year early and my parents did not let me go away to school and I also had no time (or knowledge of how) to apply to colleges, so I just went to a 2 yr school and then transfered to a local 4 yr university. I had no idea what I wanted to do or major in so I wasted a year taking classes that didn't necessarily counted towards the major I ended up choosing(sociology, love it)
Fast forward to today... I was 12 credits short to graduate in May, so I am taking 12 credits now in the summer semester. I have completed 6 so far and 1 class ends on Thursday. I am stressed the F out. I do not get what the h this class is about. I have 2 projects due tomorrow(Tuesday) at midnight. I have been trying. I have ADD, meds that make me sick. I am starting to get panic attacks. Its an online class. The stuff we are doing is pretty much stuff that the prof has made up through his research. The class is called "Lifestyle Management." Its a lower level class that I am just taking to meet the required number of credits. Nothing else fit my schedule. It is a lot of bs work that doesn't feel worth it for a ll class...
I am having nightmares about not passing. I have been waking up with weird pains and my back and shoulders are incredibly tense and hurt like a B---. This is all going to be over in a couple days, but until then I am going to go freaking crazy. |

 | Re: Stressed the F out... You are so stressed and I seriously feel you because I am bugging as well. Maybe it's because we are date twins and I feel your pain regarding schoolwork.
I am killing myself right now with juggling eveything. Just try and do the best you can. If it's not an A- then it's not but try and focus and get it done. That's what I try and tell myself. Maybe you should talk to your doc about the meds. It sounds like they are not helping you. As far as panic attacks go- I know they are rough but when you feel one coming on try and focus all your energy on the breath. Also know that they don't every really last more than 15 mins.
Try and not be so hard on yourself. I will try to take my own advice as well.
Good luck getting the work done!

 | Re: Stressed the F out... Ahh, poor thing. I know how you feel though. Summer classes are tough because they go so fast!
My advice to you is to do the easier project first. The powerpoint one sounds easy. Once you complete something you will not feel as overwhelmed and it should give you the confidence boost to finish the more difficult project.
Good Luck! I'm sure you will do fine on both and pass with flying colors!!

 | Re: Stressed the F out... Awww.
School ALWAYS stresses me out. September I will be returning to school to finish up my masters (I have 2 semesters left). This will be the first time I will be going to school WHILE being a mom. I took off this past spring semester, but was in school Fall 07 while pregnant. I can not imagine how even more stressed than normal I'm going to be going to grad school while taking care of a baby.
It definitely sucks! I can empathize with how you feel for sure. We'll get through it though! Not only for ourselves, but for the kids. It'll all pay off in the end I'm sure (it better! I have loans to pay back!). |

 | Re: Stressed the F out... You aren't the only one - i'm working full time and taking law exams - i get results in about 3 weeks and if I pass i've got to start studying hard for an exam in oct - and if i don't pass that i'll be studying on my honeymoon!!
It happens to us all - just take one day at a time and you'll ace it x

 | Re: Stressed the F out... Minor update on the class... My prof just really doesnt care. I didnt turn in half of the weekly assignments, I finished the 2 projects I was stressing about when I made this thread and I know there were things wrong with it (eg. a minimum probability was greater than the maximum) and I got 100% of each of them. I got a 97% on the final, which seemed like a breeze after I finished the projects... and I got an A. Great for me but its like profs dont even care any more... which at this point, I dont care either, but if I were like a freshman taking this class or something, it wouldnt put the right impression on me that I could put forth a minimum effort, wait until the last minute and not turn in numerous assignments and still get an A in a class... thats not what college should be like. |

 | Re: Stressed the F out... School is always stressful regardless if its an easy class or a hard one. Just try and take a deep breath and remeber that you are doing this for you and to make your life the best it can be. And everyone worries that they will fail, its just natural, just remind yourself that you know what you are doing and that it WILL all work out!
