Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides!

Hi! My fiance and I are hoping to get married at ERC in Oct of 2009. I emailed last week and am still waiting to hear back. I see that there have been a few recent brides at ERC. The pictures are beautiful! Any other future ERC brides out there? bride.gif

Hi endlesslove!

I'm excited to have found another ERC bride! 2010 will come soon enough! I've never been to ERC and unfortunately won't be able to make a site visit before we go for our actual wedding. The only information I have is what is from here and tripadvisor... and of course, pictures of previous wedding from Elizabeth Medina and Del Sol Photography. :)

Do you know what is required to actually book the wedding date? Have you been able to get the information you request when she does respond? I'm hoping she will send me a list of pricing options other than what's on the website since that is what most of my questions are about. Hopefully after that I will have some useful information to share!

Congratulations!cheers.gif My FI and I are getting married at the ERC in October this year. I have never been there either, and found it basically the same way you did! I am constantly checking for new reviews on TA - and am concerned about some recent thefts reported at the resort.eek.gif I am going to have our travel agent contact the resort with my concerns and see what they are doing about that! (I figure as a travel agent, she may lend more weight to the situation since she recommends resorts to unsure folks!! Hoping to hear a positive response soon! I absolutely love what I've seen and read about ERC, so I sincerely hope they are getting to the bottom of this!

We were able to book the wedding when we made our deposit! We are using our travel agent for all the bookings since there is a small group of us going.

Once our wedding was actually booked, I did receive more timely responses from the WC. She will email you your options (with pics and prices) for all of the details, i.e. bouquet, boutteniere, decorations, etc.

If you PM me with your email address, I can forward some of that to you...

Happy planning!

Kris

ERCbride2b, I PM'd you! Congrats to you too! Your wedding is so soon. You must be getting so excited! How long have you been planning for? October 2009 seems so far away right now but it fits best with everyone's schedules.

I saw the trip advisor reviews about the thefts, too. It does worry me a bit, but I keep reminding myself that thefts can (and do) happen anywhere. I'm interested to hear the response your TA gets from ERC.

What is the deposit that is needed to book the wedding date? Is it a certain amount of money for the rooms or is it a certain amount of money for the wedding itself? If the deposit is for the rooms, does everyone attending have to pay the deposit in order to book the wedding or just the bride and groom?

Sorry for all the questions! I just figure that it's easier and faster to get answers here than to email the WC and wait for a response. I just want to get this booked already! Maybe I need to look into getting a TA...

Hey Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me jumping in your thread but I'm also planning a wedding at ERC on 4-6-09. Noemi took a few days to get back to me also, but in her defense, my TA gave me an incorrect email address. Somehow this message was still conveyed to her and she corrected her it with me. Her initial email came to me today and as someone else shared, it contained pics of the resort, bouquets, and wedding package options. The same ones listed online.

I am also booking a very small group with a TA. No one else has booked their rooms. Many have booked their flights and the TA is "holding" their rooms. I haven't actually signed anything with ERC to officially "book" my wedding. That makes me a little nervous, however. I'd like to at least get something in writing.

I am soooo excited for this wedding. This resort looks spectacular and the overall reviews on BDW and TA look amazing.

Best of luck with your planning, ladies. Let me know if I can help.

Erika

I'm also getting married at ERC, and I'm so excited! In my experience, it does seem to take a while to hear back from the WC (Noemi), but she does eventally respond (it took 10 days for her to get back to me regarding the availability of my date). As far as reserving a date, she told me that there was no deposit or down payment required, which sounds a bit different from what other people have posted. She did email me some pictures of possible location set ups, along with a list of add-ons (it doesn't have any prices listed on it though), which was great to see.

Hi Girls!

We got confirmation for our October 2009 date :) Noemi didn't mention any deposit to book the date, just that she put us down in her agenda. Hopefully we will get more detailed information about wedding packages soon. Did anyone else read the recent thread about privacy during beach wedding ceremonies? It concerned me a little! I know people will be on the beach, but I really don't want a bunch of sunbathing people in my wedding photos worried2.gif

Here's another question for your girls. What time are you having your ceremony at ERC? Does anyone know if receptions have to end by a certain time at night? I have asked that question in a few emails but that question has gotten skipped over.

Hello fellow ERC brides! My date is set for 6/20/09...I'm so excited! Noemi (the WC) has been great to answer my questions and give some helpful information. By the looks of it, it seems she has sent the same stuff to me as to most of you. I was wondering about the deposit situation, as she hasn't requested it yet. Are most of you considering a "Symbolic" or "Legal" ceremony? I'm a little turned off by the blood test stuff. If I was to have a symbolic wedding, what's the catch? Do I need to present a marriage certificate beforehand? Good luck with the planning!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
