 |  Don't want the palm tree or starfish theme!
So I'm not real into going all the way on a beach theme. Before I was planning a DW I was planning on using Damask patterns as my theme. I love the modern yet classic look of it and am wondering if I can still use it in a tropical location like Jamaica? I was thinking of doing either black or brown with cream int he pattern with accents of pink and green. I need a lot of opinions on this one! |

You can do whatever you want! It's your wedding! Beach weddings can be as casual as shorts and flip flops, or as elegant as you want. It may be more difficult to find your theme, but if you love it, go for it! | |

If you want to use Damask patterns that would be so pretty...I think the brown with cream and pink accents would be too cute!!! It's very classic...I will be great! Your location does not have to dictate your theme...

I completly agree that there is no reason to do a beachy or nautical theme.
We really focused on our color scheme more than anything else. We didn't really follow a theme or have a mascot like Sally Starfish or anything. | |

Oh, I def I like the color you have in mind, pretty. And you don't need a beach theme for a beach wedding. The natural surroundings will set the "beach" mood! Good luck!!!!! | |

I didn't have a theme or colors. I just used a lot of bright colors. there was a starfish on my logo. | |

I agree with what everyone said above. Although, I didn't use a beachy theme as much as a hibiscus. A flower that I have always liked and happened to be tropical!
I know that Amyh who just got married used a really cool design on some of her stuff and she used green and brown as her colors. Her stuff was reallly nice.
There was also another person who used a design that they made themselves and it was really cool.
Anyway, my point is that you can do whatever you want, and those girls are proof! | |

I love your theme idea and I say go for it. It will look amazing! I also didn't want a beach theme so we kind of just went more with a color theme then anything else. However, I am going to use a starfish theme for my AHR in Ohio next month. I thought why not bring the beach to Columbus!!!
