I found my dress! But....

Recommended Posts

I went dress shopping this weekend and found my dress! I didn't buy it though because they only had it in white and I want it in ivory. I am afraid that ivory will look different and will change the beading (the way it looks). I called all around and no one has the dress in ivory. It is also a new dress, so no one has even ordered it for me to come and look at. What should I do? Should I just order it and go for it? They (David's Bridal) said if I hate it then I could exchange it for something else in the store, but no refunds can me made.

Help!

I say go ahead and order it. You've got plenty of time until the wedding, and if you absolutely hate it, David's will give you store credit. Even if you don't buy your gown there, you can use it for bridesmaids dresses, accessories, etc.

If you really like the style of the dress you could exchange the ivory for the white later on.

Is it a DB design? Could you look at another davids bridal dress with simalar fabric and beading but in the ivory to compare? Usually, the colour issues are worse when you pair two fabrics, like lace and something else for example. If you love it, I say go for it and exchange it if you hate it, but I'm sure it will be fine.

I love your dress... it is beautiful!

It is funny to see your post today as the same thing happened to me just last week. I found the gown I wanted at David's Bridal. The one they had in stock was white, but I wanted ivory. My concern was that the white dress had silver and white beading, and I do NOT want gold and ivory beading... We looked at a few ivory dresses and the beading was not gold on any of them, it was ivory. So I took the chance... I ordered the gown! I am keeping my fingers crossedworried2.gif

I am glad to hear that I can exchange for another dress if I don't like it...

Go for it girl! The dress is gorgeous. I would go ahead and order it, you can always exchange it. I am in a similar situation. I found the dress I love at David's Bridal and they only had it in Ivory. I wanted white, so they ordered it in white. I haven't seen it on me or anyone else in white and am hoping the beading is all exactly the same. (I don't see why it wouldn't be) Let us know!!

Thanks so much ladies! I am going to check out one more dress shop this weekend and then order it if I don't find anything else. This is my second dress shopping trip and this is the ONLY dress that I liked and felt comfortable in. I will let you know when I order it! I have pictures in it, but they are on one of my bridesmaids cameras. I will share and get your opinion when I get the pics. woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
