What I've sorted out since the 14th of July:
Create monogram/logo (THANK YOU Amarillis!!!)See if my aunt can perform our ceremony - she can't If not, book minister in Playa through WC - done!
What wasn't on my list, but I've done:
- Bought and received my shipment of raffia fans :)
- Bought and received some rhinestone 'Bride to Be' and 'Just Married' iron ons :)
- Bought and received our favours (cute little shell Christmas ornaments dipped in silver) :)
So yeah, back to the colour problem.
I can't make up my mind!
light pink, green (romantic feel)
fuschia, pink, lime green? (more vibrant)
fuschia and navy blue (classy)
Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!!! |
I LOVE the Fuschia Pink/Lime Green combination. I've seen a few girls with that, and it looks really really good.

I've been able to finally get a few things off my to-do list:
We selected our flower girl dress yesterday (shopping with a flower girl dress for 3 year old can be challenging...when she wants the pink one, and the wedding colors are blue and brown), also purchased our ring-bearer shirt (beautiful white linen shirt), which he will wear with khaki shorts.
Invitations (to be sent within the US) are done and ready to mail. Canadian one's are on hold, because I have to get some Canadian stamps to put on the rsvp's - so i won't be able to get those for another week or so.
Wedding Bands are bought, Luggage tags are made and BIG NEWS...yesterday I picked up my dress, headband and veil........it's great to have that sitting in the house now :)
So....what's left:
-Fan/Programs
-A few more things for the OOT bags
-MUSIC...(this will be a biggy and i estimate about 20 hours - i will make a Ceremony Playlist, (pre, during, post) Dinner Playlist, Reception Playlist, Snorkel trip boat tour playlist
-Informational brochures (which I will send with luggage tags about a month prior to the wedding)
-AGenda for the week (which i will include in the OOT bags)
-Groomsmen Gifts
-Centerpiece, flower and cake confirmaton with hotel
-Photographer - we have the photographer, but need to meet to confirm what pics we want, the style we want, times etc
Im sure there is MUCH more...but that's what's jumping out at me for now.
OH YEAH...and figuring out how to get all this crap to MX, and who I can beg to take stuff with them - ha ha.
How's everyone else doing?

Arrrrrrrrrrrgh!!! | If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your favour ornaments? I really wanted to do customized Christmas tree ornaments but I can't find anything online that I like.
I feel really relaxed and am starting to think I'm missing something.
This is what I have done:
bought dress (still have to get altered)
bought and altered FI's suit & shoes
bought my shoes & fancy flip flops for later in reception
bought my jewelry
have my veil (borrowed from my best friend who was married yesterday!)
got both of our rings the other day (they look awesome!)
bought our plane tickets and booked accommodations
booked ceremony & reception site, flowers, hair & make-up, photographer, dj, limo, videographer, cake
left to do:
address & send invitations (will be arriving on Tuesday!)
get dress altered
choose hairstyle
get favours
make place cards & table numbers
book connecting flights home (our flights are booked out of our current city but we are moving in 2 weeks, which we had not planned when we originally purchased our tickets in January)
look into luau booking for everyone (our thank you gift)
look into helicopter ride gift for Colin & I for day after the wedding
We're not doing OOT bags or group plans because our group is not connected (too many divorcees). We will be spending time with everyone semi-separately. In many respects our DW is very different from a lot of the DW's on here because our group will definitely NOT want to hang out together beyond the wedding day.

I'm kinda freakin out....i've gone every weekend around all bridal stores around Denver & have yet to find my dress!!!! That's 4 months out & I have no wedding dress!
Am I screwed or can I take a breath that I still have time ? I may need to rush it of course, but some of my friends are making me feel doomed that I'll have to buy one that is off rack & I can't order it anymore??
Help!

Laura | Laura - yeesh! Yes, I'd get on it really soon. I don't think you can take much of a deep breath. I think you need to get a dress in the next month.
I waited until Saturday to buy mine, which was cutting it a little close. They say it'll take 2-3 months and then I need to get it altered.
What style are you thinking of? What really jumps out at you? Have you looked at different stores than bridal stores online first, like J Crew or other different online kinds of stores?
Let us know what you're thinking of and maybe we can help!!!
You'll be fine, but let's get 'er done in the next week or two!

They were way smaller than I thought they'd be, but they're really cute. And I think that once I thread some ribbon through them and package them up they'll be perfect.
I just posted pics of them here: My sea shell Christmas ornaments: favors or just gifts???
My only issue right now is: I only bought enough for each "family", not individual at first, because I didn't thinkt hey were going to be our favours. So now, do I
1) Add them to each OOT bag as a gift per family
2) Keep them for the actual favours, which are going to be in boxes and double as place-cards. This means I"ll have to order more. Quote:

Is it a civil or a spiritual. Do you have to put together a ceremony script and is the person performing the marriage all booked? Quote:

Me it's just my parents. My father is going to stay at another hotel in town.
I hope that with that exception others will want to blend, but they may not.

Thanks Kevsgirl. I've been frustrated with the favours because I had a definite idea in my head of what I wanted- customized starfish ornaments with our name & wedding date. But I haven't been able to find anything online like it. Everything I've found is super tacky.. I have tried a few different DIY ideas... FI just solved the problem. We bought a small chocolate mold (starfish shape) and fimo and he is a MASTER at making these! I am just going to leave him to do them all. I'll bake and glaze them, but they look fantastic! I'll make sure to post a pic once we have one complete. We only planned to give one per couple/family and then any singles will get their own. So we only have about 10 to make. A few extra because there are some people who can't make it to the wedding who have asked for one (my best friend and sister), which I'm happy to do.
Thanks for the encouragement! I feel pretty organized, but I have done everything so gradually that it has never really felt like work.
Our ceremony will be non-religious. Our WC sent us a script we could use (her husband is our minister) and I am happy with it.
She said that all the details can be finalized in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Hopefully I won't be too stressed then, since it will be report card time (I'm a teacher).

Laura | Hi Laura, take a deep breath - it will be OK! I found my dress the middle of June and it is already here...so I think if you find one in the next couple of weeks, you will still be ok :)

I really disliked the one we were going to have, so we will be preparing our own. But luckily I have Morgan's and a few others girls from the forum's ceremonies to pillage! hee hee!
