So what all did everyone get done this weekend? I didn't do much but worked on our invitations a little bit- we're making our own passport invitations.

What I've done so far:
Booked place (Dreams Tulum)
photographer (Citalli)
wedding website
made and sent STDs (boarding pass)
booked DJ (Mannia)
ordered my dress
bought bracelet, earrings, and shoes
reserved hotel for us
booked flights for us
bought groomsmen suits
bridesmaid dresses ordered
reserved the catamaran for our 'welcome party'/rehearsal
bought canvas totes for OOT
bought some stuff to fill OOT (sudoko, aloe, first aid kits, chapstick)
created monogram/logo

Need to:
finish invitation and send
buy wedding bands
buy transfer paper, print and iron on to OOT bags
finish first aid kits- immodium and advil packets
buy additional items for OOT bags
find shirt and shoes for groomsmen
buy veil and garter
figure out something borrowed, something blue...
buy attendant gifts
buy parents gifts
buy FI gift
pick and order flower girl dress
order shot glasses with monogram
order guest book
order sand ceremony stuff
buy paper lanterns
buy tulle/material for gazebo and chairs
figure out first dance song and others (father/daughter, down aisle, etc)
play list for boat
play list for wedding
make programs, welcome letters, table numbers, placecards, menus
make photoshare card for OOT
finalize ceremony
figure out hair style (do trial run here first?)
order plastic cups with monogram

Felt good to write it down but I'm scared!!! SO MUCH LEFT TO DO!!

Hi There
I am also getting married in December. We booked Cuba at the end of March and I do have price protection for the fuel surcharges for the people already booked. I have a few seats reserved for those who might book still.

What I've done so far:
photographer provided from hotel
wedding website made
made and sent STDs / newsletter
Bought my dress
reserved hotel for us
booked flights for us
bought totes for OOT
bought some stuff to fill OOT (first aid kits, chapstick)
created monogram/logo

Need to:
finish invitation and send
buy earrings, and shoesbuy wedding bands
print and iron on to OOT bags
finish first aid kits- immodium and advil packets
buy additional items for OOT bags
pick out cloths for groomsmen - our kids
bridesmaid dresses need to be bought
reserved a place for our 'welcome party'/rehearsal
find shirt and shoes for groomsmen
buy garter
figure out something borrowed, something blue...
buy attendant gifts
order guest book
order sand ceremony stuff
figure out first dance song and others
play list for wedding
make programs, welcome letters, table numbers, placecards, menus
finalize ceremony
figure out hair style (do trial run here first?)

.... making a list is a little unnerving, but should motivate me:)

Hi everyone!!!

I've been thinking about where all the December brides were and I've finally found you!

I'm getting married December 12, 2008 at Shangri-La Caribe beach village resort in Playa del Carmen.

Our ceremony will be at 3:30pm (I am so relieved after reading the posts about the timing and sunset!) and dinner at 7pm.

I'll post after I get my hair done (going out now downtown) my To Do list. I'm a little stressed about everything that has to be done still. Really worried about numbers too - it's hard to do lots of the fun DIY projects until we have an accurate guest count and people are taking their time booking... Oh well! The most important people are definitely reserved and in :)

Talk soon, ladies!

Andrea :)

Hey December Brides!!

We are getting married in Cabo San Lucas December 6th at RIU Santa Fe. There is a bridal extravaganza this weekend so I'm hoping to find a veil and the groomsmen attire there. I've never been to one before, but hopefully it will prove useful.

The big things we need to get done are find his ring and start ordering invitations. If you're not a DIY kinda girl, but still want great invitations at a great price, I recommend .:Hitched Invites-Custom & Pre-Made Wedding Invitations. Invitations. Inspired:. The girl's name is Gwen and she is great! She gets back to you quickly and she'll do exactly what you want. I did my boarding pass STD through her and they were beautiful.

Look forward to chatting with ya'll some more!

Although I did my invites, I did look at this site way back and loved it!! They have so many different designs and they are nice!

I am getting married Dec. 7th, 2008 at Dreams Tulum. I am so thankful you started this thread so that we can all keep eachother on track & share ideas! Our ceremony, as of now, is set for 4pm. I feel like I should be doing alot right now, but then the resort tells me to wait until @ 3months before to start planning the resort details (cake, flowers, etc.). What else should I be doing? I've gotten STD's out...

Have you all already ordered or purchased your dresses? I'm going this weekend, just haven't found one yet that's "woo-ed" me.

Lastly, are any of you feeling the stress of this "airline fuel costs" & companies going under or bankrupt? I have people afraid to book bc they aren't sure what will be when Dec. rolls @.

Thanks, looking forward to chatting with you ladies, LOTS!!!

Laura

ha ha ha - our lists look almost identical - only I was in Ottawa last week on vacation and found my bridesmaid shoes at Global (or Globo or something) - they are super cute and were on sale for $19.00 - I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately i don't have photo's as I left them in Canada with my BM's, but check out that store - prices were very reasonable!!!

Oh yeah - and I still have the daunting task of my invitations - YIKES!! I'm in the middle of changing jobs, so I took next week off between jobs to do wedding stuff - hopefully all my invites will be out by this time next week.

Canvas bags are on sale right now at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. They come in bundles of 3, and with the discount are $2.99 for 3. I also bought the iron-on transfer thing there too (although that was more expensive then I thought).

I realized I am focusing a little bit on too many things - invites, OOT stuff, the bags, luggage tags, BM gifts, my jewelery, my shoes, center-pieces, etc - I've decided that I will accomplish more if I only focus on one thing at a time - so today's the day. FOCUS ONLY on invitations!!! Let's hope that strategy works :) :)

Thanks for the intel, Tracy! I know time is running out (well I feel like it is) for good shoes, because summer's almost over... also, my real problem is that my BMs (sisters) are in Australia, so I can't really do anything until I know their dresses and they have to get shoes to match. Arrrg!

Do you have friends in Ottawa/are you from Ottawa? Seems a bit of a distance to come from Texas :) You probably liked our summer weather - I hear although it's boiling for us, it's lots cooler for those coming from the south!

p.s. did your strategy work? are the invites done?
