I'm planning a May 09 wedding right now, and I had been looking at the Mexican Riviera, but I'm just not pleased with the beach views that I've been finding, so now I'm looking elsewhere, and some of you have gorgeous beach shots from Jamaica. I've done some looking, but there are so many threads that my head is starting to spin, and I'd appreciate any input you ladies might have on specific resorts that you got married at or have visited and dealt with the wedding department at. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! | I got married at Riu Ocho Rios, as many other brides have here on BDW. My experience was more than I could have expected & I'd definitely recommend the Riu. Try doing a search of ROR here on BDW & you will find a ton of reviews. I hope that this helps!

I can't say enough good things about our trip to Couples. It is an adult only resort if that makes a difference.
The beach is beautiful and the sand is white and powdery soft! I'll hopefully have some pictures to post soon!

Well, I think we will switch to an adults only after the wedding, but there is one girl who will be attending who hasn't even hit 16 yet, so we need a family friendly resort to start with!

Just an FYI, some adult only hotels will let minors come on the property to attend a wedding. I have 2 minors coming to RP the day of my wedding.

You will find ROR is a very popular wedding resort. Many girls have gotten married there and shared their experiences here. It is newer resort (opened in 2005) so everything is up to date. It prices in the fairly moderate price range so most people would find it affordable. It is family friendly and there are lots of things to do on and off the resort. if you would like more information or price quotes please feel free to PM me.

I'm putting in my plug for Sandals. We stayed and were married at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios, and our guests stayed at nearby Beaches Boscobel. We had a terrific experience!

I would think about the Beaches and Sandals expierence too. We are getting married in Nov and we are at Beaches Negril (we have a 5 yr old) but alot of our coupled friends are staying at the Sandals right down the rd. They can come and play all day with you and you can go over to Sandals without having to pay for day passes.. other hotels your guests will have to get guest passes to just hang out with you. Have a blast in whatever you choose! Oh and Negril is on the western side of the island... 7 mile beach and has the best sunsets.
