What about flags ? You could have a flag for each country in the centre on the table, maybe in the centre of a vase with flowers round the outside ? Just an idea....

i also suggested flags in your other post but a statue or somethign of a icon of that country, for instance in Australia - the Sydney Opera House or Bridge, France - Eiffle Tower etc etc.. what a fun theme

What a great theme to do!
Here are a few suggestions of things I've seen:
- Books by authors from those countries
- Animals and figurines specific to the country
- Appetizers specific to the country's cuisine
- Wine specific to the country
At the end of the night you can encourage people to take these things as favors, too.

One of my girlfriends did something similar for her wedding and she had a picture of her and the groom and on the opposite side were a few sentences about the place they visited and some special things they remembered from their trip. It worked out well and everyone was going around to all of the tables during the reception to read each story.
