Yes! They make an anti-humidity gel that I used for my PV wedding and I was pleased. Not perfect, but much better than I expected.

A little late on this but my stylist told me about a new Aveda product last week and I finally got to try it out and guess what?! IT WORKS! I live in Florida and I do have curly hair so the battle with humidity is an ongoing thing. It’s called Aveda Smooth Infusion Prep Styler Aveda - products that nurture. styling. straight/smooth. smooth infusion(tm) style-prep smoother(tm)
Makes styling faster, easier.

• Exclusive plant infusion—a blend derived from organic aloe, maize and guar bean—creates a smooth surface on hair
• Organic tapioca defends against humidity for up to 12 hours
• Hydrolized wheat protein protects against surface damage from heat styling

I've tried the smooth invusion before and I have to say it is one the best smelling Aveda products. That's my one gripe about Aveda - their products aren't the best smelling I've come across, but they work.

Mel - you should do a before and after picture so we can see how it works!

I was looking at all of the Aveda products last week and will probably end up buying their products to use to tame my daughters and my hair. I am going to have to find the pic I took of my daughter with her big poufy hair in PV- it is hillarious!

She has two ponytails with big poufy curls - she looks like a poodle it is SO funny!

It can't look any worse than mine. I blew mine out the other day with the diffuser on it and my hair kept growing and growing...I was looking like a 1980's rocker chick!

I was trying to leave it semi curly for the day - but I ended up straightening it. I was laughing at myself.

I love me some big hair, but it was totally out of control!! LOL!!

She looks so cute! Seriously I have Mufasa hair. Like I seriously look like I just stepped out of the jungle. That is why I love Japanese Straightening. It does not breakaway hair. If your hair breaks off then the person is not doing it properly.

Another thing I have heard of is the keratese conditioning treatment. It doesn't permanently straighten your hair but it improves damage and makes it softer and with less frizz. It is def worth a try.

my aunt just had a different straightening process done (maybe brazilian straightening?). it can be done on color treated hair and is topical, so it washed out after a few months, rather than chemical, which grows out. the downside is that supposedly it contains formaldehyde (sp?), which is a cancer-causing agent. that being said, i don't know if my aunt would have done it if there was anything toxic in the formula.
however.
her hair looks great. she should only wash it every other day, which is ok b/c she has thick hair, and she has to use special shampoos and conditioners. so there's another option for you frizzy people with color treated hair.
