 Our engagement story
For the past 3 years, my fiance, Mike, and I go visit my grandparents in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, for a nice, quiet spring break vacation. We just love it there -- so beautiful!
I just KNEW he was going to ask me to marry him when we went this year. It's Florida, the beach, vacation...when's a better time? :)
So we drive through the night to get there (flying is too expensive!), and the plan is to sleep in our first day there, since we got in around 3am. But no, Mike was up at 7am, wanting to take a walk on the beach. I was groggy and confused why he was up so early.
We finally made our way to the beach and we walked around for awhile and finally he stops, turns me towards him, and he's holding the ring in his hand. "Will you marry me?" Before I could say yes, since we were standing so close to the water, when he turned me around, my camera almost fell out of my pocket into the water. I said, "Hold on, my camera!" THEN, I said YES! :)
And we had the most amazing vacation ever...I'm so glad he did it on the first day! |
