Hi, I'm getting married at the ROR and I wanted to have rose petals scattered up the aisle, as I think this looks really beautiful, but I have no idea how much you would need, do any of you know? I was thinking of getting my petals at home and taking them with me.
I've heard that freeze dried petals are a good choice as they do not wilt or stain. Have any of you used these? if not what did you use?

i don't know how it always is but when we got married it was way to windy for that. my FG threw petals and they immediately blew away.

Depending on how heavy you want them you are probably looking at 4 cups per sq ft.
Here is a bunch of info on rose petals and square footage. Rose Petals 101
We are definetly going freeze dried. Hope that helps, Carla |

I love the rose petal look too! Where are you getting married Ellie? Beach/Gazebo or Lagoon Gazebo?

I got married at the beach gazebo and i bought 3000 silk petals for the aisle and also gave each guest a little organza bag with rose petals to toss.

4 cups per square foot? wow that sounds like a lot! We only got one bag for the whole aisle, probably like 4-6 cups! But it obviously completely depends on the look you want. Sorry can't post a picture now.
I was also worried about them flying away but it's not a problem if they are placed on the ground before, like the person should have their hand just above the sand when they are spreading them. None blew away and it was really windy. But I can see how if you let them go at waist level they would all blow away.

I'm buying 4000 from Petal Garden. Probably silk but they have freeze dried as well. I was worried about bringing in Freeze dried to Jamaica, I know you can't bring fresh flowers out of there so I was wondering if you can bring real (freeze-dried) in....

Have any of you used these? if not what did you use? | I saw silk flower petals for weddings at Hobby Lobby in the wedding section. I might actually be using them as well. They had all sorts of colors and would be perfect for a DW :)

but the problem with silk is would you pick them all up after? if not it's littering. With natural petals it wouldn't be littering
