Anybody have any info on La Romana, DR?
I see a lot of info on Punta Cana for a DW on here... can anyone help me with a "La Romana vs Punta Cana" comparison?
The reason I'm asking is because apparently the Sunscape Casa del Mar is being converted into a Dreams (Dreams La Romana) this year and looks really beautiful.

This won't be much help. but punta cana is more all inclusive resorts that people don't have to leave. It's resorts are newer than laromana. LaRomana is an older city but supposed to be beautiful.

La Romana was one of my first choices when we started planning a DW. I fell in love with the church that is at Casa de Campo. I received a lot of information from Casa de Campo as well as Sunscape. If you are interested, let me know your email and I will forward it to you. Although I have been to Punta Cana (loved it) I have never been to La Romana so I can't give you my opinions on the differences. The closest I got was to Isla Saona which was amazing!

That church is amazing, although I think the wedding gazebo at the Casa del Mar looks pretty nice too :P

The church is really really darling!!! My parents used to visit Casa de Campo when I was a teeny tiny girl and it still floors me when I see it. It is a-mazing.
:) Keep us posted if you get married at Casa del Mar!

There is a new international airport in La Romana so hopefully we could avoid the drive in from Punta Cana... and maybe the food with improve with the Dreams conversion?
What did you think of the area while you were there?
Was there much to do off-resort? Did you feel safe off-resort?
Or if you didn't go off-resort, was there enough to keep you happy and entertained at the resort?
Thanks so much, sorry for all the questions!
