Hi =)

How were you able to reserve the Chapel Gazebo so far ahead of time?

Are you having a Catholic Ceremony? If so they automatically reserve the Chapel Gazebo for them unless otherwise requested.

We are hoping to have the Chapel Gazebo as well.

Thanks

Try having your TA contact the Miami office and see if they are willing to do a contract. I don't know how my TA did it, but she did. Don't tell them I told you about it though - LOL - wouldn't want my group contract to get cancelled :)!!!!

Yudelka's email address is ykok@palaceresorts.com.

Her email turnaround time is pretty quick - less than 24 hours typically.

I would like to maybe book 2 more hours on the recption so it finishes at 12.30 instead of 10.30pm. You can have the ballroom up until 1am. The extra hours is 60 usd per table of 10 an hour.

I hope this helps.

Thanks so much for posting this. I didn't realize that there was an extra charge per hour to extend the indoor reception past 10:30. Although $60 per table of 10 an hour doesn't seem like too bad a deal.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post to introduce myself. My name is Camie and my fiance, Pete, and I are getting married on May 2, 2009. We arrive on 04/29 and depart on 05/05.

I've just spent the past 5+ hours reading all 102 pages of this thread and I'm thankful for all the information provided between members, yet frustrated to find that there are some who have a wedding date following ours yet have been assigned an onsite WC. I've been asking for an onsite WC for awhile now and Yudelka (Miami) will not budge. I'm taking the advice of everyone here and am going to start sending her all my questions in bunches to annoy her and hopefully she will move me to the onsite WC.

Anyway, I must now carefully craft my first 'persist yet not harsh' email to Yudelka which will hopefully lead to my onsite WC.

Thanks to all for all the helpful information!
Camie

One last post for today...

A read a post somewhere during my 5+ hours of catching up regarding tipping and what the rules of engagement are. I did not see a reply to that question and I found an old article that I had bookmarked from theknot.com that may be helpful so I thought I would share. I believe its intent was for US weddings, however, it should give you a starting point of what to consider.

I worked with Yudelka directly for anything pertaining to the room block and she has been FANTASTIC to work with. VERY responsive (typically replies with 24 hours). I have had an extremely positive experience with every in the Miami office.

My experience with my WC (Nancy) has been the complete opposite! I am down to 3 weeks and I haven't been able to get many of my questions answered. She keeps telling me she is working on Oct. weddings, but my wedding is Nov. 1st. Seems to me she should be working on mine now too! I am trying to not stress out because I know that once I am there, everything is going to turn out fine... BUT it would be nice to get some of the planning out of the way before I get there.

Even if you get a WC assigned to you, don't expect them to get back to you quickly. I was barely able to get anything from her when I was more than 3 months out. As soon as I hit my 3 month mark, she did start to communicate more with me. When I've needed to get her to respond ASAP, I have had to CC her boss. The only thing that prevents me from going completely crazy is that I did meet Nancy when I did my site visit and she seemed very professional and 100% on top off the weddings happening at the resort that weekend.
