 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! I'm getting married in Puerto Vallarta on Concha Chinas beach this July. The reception will be at a villa, but we are only having 90 people. My planner Eva & Michael of Vallarta Weddings charged me a flat rate of $1000. And they are doing everything for me. |

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Also check out the RIU hotels. There are three in PV. (you can check them out at Riu Hotels & Resorts) I chose RIU Jalisco because it has a GORGEOUS gazebo, but I've heard great things about the 2 other RIUs as well. They charge about $2K for the most expensive wedding package. It includes the reception dinner for up to 50 guests but I bet you can pay extra for the remaining guests. It is definitely the most affordable option for me! Good luck! |

Look at their wedding options and see if something there fits your needs!
Good luck!

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Im also a PV Riu bride. We chose the Riu Vallarta because we love the resort and its affordable. We are having a Catholic ceremony at Nuestra Senora de la Paz Church which is in the Marina, PV. The church is like 20-30 minutes away but we are willing to take the drive since we fell in love with the church.

What villa are you getting married at? What is the event fee at the villa? $1000 WC seems super reasonable. I have communicated with them via email however I am curious about the "members only" menu - is there alot to choose from? Do you like the decor selections and flowers....etc and are these items prices inflated to make up for the flat coordination fee? Finally, what do they offer food wise per person - I know I won't be cheap here but our guests also will not have lobster!! Any thoughts you have about this - I would appreciate! I am just nervous about pulling the trigger on a coordinator!!! Thank you soo much!

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Hi Justine,
We have rented Villa Las Palmeras & Villa Katalina, they are next door to each other. We will have the reception at Villa Las Palmeras because it is a bigger villa. They did not have an event fee. Regarding the planner, they do have a lot of options but if you find something on your own that you like better they try to work with you on that. For my wedding I basically told them what look I was going for. I sent them pics I found of what I liked and hopefully it will happen. I think their prices are reasonable because I keep comparing them to prices here. For the caterer we decided to go with a $70pp and that includes all banquet equipment. We gave our guests a choice between a steak medallion with shrimp or a Mahi Mahi fillet. I went to meet with the planner and caterer and the food was really good and she was very nice and had our day planned out really well I know it isn't an easy decision but having a planner has been a big help. The only bad thing with Eva & Michael is that they are very busy and they don't always respond to my emails right away. Hope this helps let me know if you have anymore questions. |

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! We looked into Las Palmeras with the adjacent villa - however our guest list will probably be around 110. I understand that is too many for a reception at the Palmeras villa. So - we need to have the entire wedding at another location - prob a hotel. Where is your wedding ceremony going to be?
When we crunched some numbers it might be impossible financially for me to rent out those two villas and afford to have the wedding and reception at a separate location. Was the villa or coordinators willing to work with you or did you not have any budget concerns? This place is my first choice so I love the feedback. Thanks soooo much for you help!

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Check out Playa Fiesta, they can accommodate 110 and their prices are great. Actually very affordable compared to many I have looked into. We are planning on having over 80 guests and will be doing the private villa thing, but if we weren't I would totally do Playa Fiesta.
Best of Luck |

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Hi Justine,
We are having the ceremony at Concha Chinas beach which is about 4 minutes from the villas. Our guest list is at 95 right now. We weren't expecting that much but so far the planner is working with me on that. We are going to have cocktail hour by the pool, then dinner in the main living area and the dancing on the top patio. It has a really great view from there especially at night. We rented the villas but everyone who is staying with us is paying for their own rooms. The other guests are all staying at different hotels. I couldn't afford to pay for all myself. But before you think about renting the villas I would first talk with your guests and see who would be interested in staying there. Because I ran into the problem of people saying they'd stay and then back out so I'd have to scrabble for someone else to fill the rooms.

 | Re: PV Wedding.....help!! Here is some info hope it helps Puerto Vallarta Wedding Coordinator - Wedding in Puerto Vallarta - The Dazzling Details is a great WC company that will give you a sample invoice for a wedding of your size. That way you can start to budget your wedding. Michelle and Kristin are both great who work there.
I am not sure if you are planning on 100plus guests or sending out 100+ invites. Just a rule of thumb most destination weddings get only 50-60% attendance from their invites.
I have seen invoices from 3 WC companies for 80 guests and they ran between 14-17K. That is by doing it at a private villa. I believe if you do your reception at a restaurant or hotel you will pay less for the food. Like almost half, that is a way you could save.
All 3 companies I spoke to also did a flat fee which changed with every 20 guests. Prices ranged from $800-$1600 depending on their speciality. Meaning if you want a standard wedding set up vs something that is designed to your personality and dream site.
I hope this helps. You can use the search option at the top of the site to look for other information you may have questions on.
Best of Luck.
