karma: 0 | Proposal in Myrtle Beach, S.C.... hotel room!!
Here's my novel!!! hehe. A month before we left to go on vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with friends of ours and their 2 kids. My fiance decides to buy a playstation 3 because the xbox was broken. Then about a week later he buys a 61 inch TV and the one we had was only a year old. Of course I was not happy. 3 years into our serious relationship and buying a house together and even having a new puppy part of our family (we already had 1 dog and cat) where is my ring ? I am ready, I know what I want and can't picture my life without him etc... But a TV and a stupid gaming console? I was pretty much fired up!!
So we go on vacation (the whole time he had a grand plan!!). I had no idea. He ordered the ring online, they were supposed to ship it before we left but the jeweler didn't like the quality so he ordered a new one... that meant the ring would not be delivered on time. So my fiance called them and asked if they could ship the ring to the hotel we were staying at. He had it all planned to propose on the pier but that night there was a tornado warning and major thunderstorms etc... So the night didn't go as planned. But in the pouring rain he encouraged me to go on the pier... oh but it was closed and decided to down pour rain while this is happening. So back to the hotel. Poor guy, he was so nervous so everything came out wrong; "I haven't been honest with you...I've been talking to a guy in California..ummm, all the times I was on the phone during this vacation wasn't who I said I was talking too..(down on one knee) Shawn, will you marry me?" HAHAHAHA. Of course I said YES!!
My heart about jumped through my chest, I thought something was wrong the way he said it all. it was perfect though. I had nooooooooo clue what so ever.
He tells the story waaaaaaay better than I do!
I love the way everything worked out though, it was perfect in my mind :)

That's cute! I can only imagine how he was feeling with everything not going as he originally planned. Poor guy! At least everything worked out at the end and it turned out great anyway!

That is so funny. My finance, Clint proposed in Myrtle Beach too. He is a major "gamer" and impulse buyer so I feel your pain.
That stinks that the weather was no good. Poor thing. I'm sure he was nervous and just kept getting postponed.
At least you had no clue it was coming though. I actually had a feeling Clint was going to propose at the beach, which he did eventually. I was acutally nervous because I knew it was coming and I just wanted him to get it over with. Haha.
However, I was quite surprised by the ring he got. Reason being is that I had a feeling he would pick out something I wouldn't like so I went to the jeweler beforehand and picked out a ring with some of my friends. I gave him a card with all the info. Turns out, he went down there, didn't like the ring I picked (excuse me, who is wearing it?) and picked out something totally different!
Anyway, it is pretty and he picked it out all by himself so I kept it (honestly, how could I not? It would hurt his feelings), but I do give him a hard time about what he did every once in awhile.
