karma: 0 | San Juan experiences?
Hi, there! Wondering if anyone has had any wedding experiences at the El San Juan or Ritz-Carlton in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Are you planning a wedding at either hotel? Attended someone else's wedding there?
We're focusing on PR/San Juan because of its accessibility to/from NY (for friends and family). We love some of the smaller hotels, but have a VERY large group (up to--or even over--200) and would like to be somewhere that can accommodate most of our guest's needs.
Any thoughts? Planning stories? Pics? Anything and everything you'd like to share about either venue would be much, much appreciated!

Hi,
I have photogrpahed many weddings at the Ritz-Carlton. It's, as you say, a relatively small hotel, but will be able to accomodate you nicely. The same goes with the El San Juan Hotel.
Have you considered some of the coastal resorts like El Conquistador, Wyndham Riomar, or Grand Meliá?
Cheers,
- James

I just got engaged in PR 2 weeks ago, and our hope is to be married there as well, for a lot of the reasons you say. It is a beautiful place, easily accessible, and there are so many things for people to do if they want to stay for a vacation.
We are considering the El San Juan, and I am going next month to talk to them in person. I love the resorts that were also mentioned, but I am trying to stay in the SJ metro area to make it easier for the guests.
I will be glad to share any info I get! Happy planning!

Unfortunately I didn't make it back to PR. 6 weeks after we got engaged my Mom died very suddenly so we scrapped all of our PR plans and are now getting married in Vegas.
They were wonderful to deal with on the phone though. Great customer service and I'm sure it would have been a great place for our wedding.
