Our one year anniversary is almost here and I wanted to surprise Terry with tickets to his fav NFL team the Arizona Cardinals...wanted to fly down in september stay for 3 nights...the plan was first night (game night) wanted to stay near the stadium and after that wanted to get a really nice romantic hotel for us...so my question is where should we stay? I heard Scottsdale is beautiful or is Pheonix better? Help please?

hey Edyta! FI and I just went to Arizona for a long weekend in Feb for VDay. We stayed in Scottsdale - i definitely wouldn't stay in Phoenix.

If you can, go to this restaurant, Saraha recommended it and it was AMAZING!

Quiessence Restaurant and Wine Bar

we stayed at Hotel Scottsdale, it was OK but not that luxurious, great location and decent price. kind of like a re-vamped old motor lodge

Hotel Scottsdale in Scottsdale, AZ

here is the thread about the trip with some pics and some of the AZ girls posted about a really sweet hotel in there.

we LOVED AZ - have a great time :)

How exciting!!! You will love it, hopefully :o)

There are some really cool hotels here. It kinda depends on what you are looking for. I will do some thinking and get back on here tonight with a list for you.

What kind of hotel are you wanting and resturants?

Modern/Hip next to all the hot bars and clubs

Romantic more secluded.... nice pools just to relax?

Romantic restuants?

Fun atomsphere?

Just let me know what your taste is and what you want and Ill let you know where to go!!!

The Royal Palms is the most romantic hotel I know. It's small & boutique. Tons of weddings happen there,

The Valley Ho is great! Very hip & the pool scene is crazy on the weekends!

There are tons of great places to stay out here. And tons of great places to eat. I work at most of the hotels out here for work & am happy to give you any ideas.

P.S. Why oh why is he a Cardinals fan? smile35.gif

Valley Ho is awesome. They have a cool mexican place right next door called Old Town Tortilla Factory. Really cool atmosphere.

Royal Palms would also be an awesome choice!

I would totally stay in scottsdale. There are TONS of great places to eat, shop and play.

I'm new to AZ, but I just went out on a desert jeep tour and it was the most awesome thing I've done here so far. Learned all about the desert, which sounds lame, but it was so great. I would toally recommend it.

The Boulders is pretty sweet too. I haven't personally stayed there, but I hear it is amazing and very very well known for their hot rock massages which are amazing. It is more up north in a little town called Carefree. Its still only about 20 mins at most from town. A ways away from the stadium though.

I haven't been to the Hotel Ho, but that was where the photog I was gonna go with for my BD shoot recommended.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
