Has anyone confirmed this with their wedding coordinator yet? I checked yesterday and they hadn't changed it yet on the website.
Thanks!

I just checked after I posted and they have changed it!

Hi,
I just got back from my site visit at EDR and I'm considering EDR for my wedding next year. I've been reading about all the issues going on with the outside vendor policies. Today, when I asked the WC about the updated policy, she sent me the old policy. I'm waiting to hear back from her to confirm the new policy, but, could you tell me where you found the new updated policy for outside photographers. Thanks!
Rhonda

if you contact your WC about the policy and they send you the old one, tell them that you heard that Faith Wishnie (head of wedding dept) recently changed the policy...at least that is what i was told by their pr company. if they respond differently, let me know and we will re-instate the ban.

Hey, my wedding coordinator just got back to me today and confirmed that yes in fact EDR's photographer policy has changed. It is now a $500.00 fee ONLY. No additional 3 night stay. In my case, I have my photographer driving in from outside of the Riviera Maya, therefore I have to book her a room for my wedding. But at least now for me that means $500.00 + 1 night stay. Not so bad I guess.

So really, they are still charging the $500 fee but no longer requiring the 3-night stay.

Tammy - I thought they were going back to their original policy that if they are staying 3 nights there is $0 Fee? Maybe I misunderstood.

Don't you think the fees are a little ridiculous? Other resorts in that area charge way less ($100 USD) and some don't even charge at all.

I will definitly not be recommending this resort to ANY of my friends and family because of the overcharging that this resort does.

I'm looking into cabo and so many resorts have stupid vendor rules, not only EDR. Most resorts (Riu, westin etc don't allow outside vendors) should we not have a thread that explains which resorts allow outside vendors, which ones don't and which resorts charge and how much they charge? I think it's so stupid to charge brides paying so much $ already. I don't think it's fair at all and 500$ is the most I have ever heard of!
