karma: 4 | Really bummed about our honeymoon...
John and I really wanted to honeymoon in Paris and Florence. I started looking at flights and hotels this week. I never once thought of the weather, until today. It's going to be cold and rainy when/if we go (end of Oct to Nov.). I don't want to go when it's cold and rainy...what would you guys do: Pick another destination, or still go? We really don't want to postpone our honeymoon.

First of all--love your siggy! Great idea
Moving on...I guess it all depends on what type of memories you want to create. Sometimes quirky vacations are more fun than relaxing on the beach. Do you want to just chill or get out and see Paris?

I would still go! Experience Paris and Florence in the winter, then you can go again and see it from a different season.
I think it would be romantic to stroll away the streets of Paris with your DH in the rain.

Maybe you're right Yair...hmmmm.....I don;t mind the cold so much, but if it's storming, I don't think we'll want to go out. Does anyone know if it rains really hard at the begining of Nov.?

I found this for you, Leia...
Paris:
November is an amazing and enchanting time to visit France. There are countless festivals and events to herald the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine. The leaves are changing colors, especially early in the month and in Northern France.
Weather
The weather can range from crisp but comfortable days to downright chilly nights. There are major variations in climate depending on where you are in France, but here are weather averages for some major cities:
Average high temperature is 9 degrees celsius/49 degrees farenheit, and the average low is 4 celcius, 39 farenheit. Average number of days with snow is one in the month.
Why to go in November
Enjoy the quiet and avoid the long lines in the low tourist season
There is wonderful shopping
The scenery is beautiful early in the month when the autumn leaves change colors
The Christmas markets start at the end of the month, and cities and villages get decked for the holidays
Rates are low on lodging and airfare
Why not to visit France in November
The weather can be uncomfortably cold
Some attractions could have restricted hours, or even be closed, especially in smaller villages
Looks like the pros outweigh the cons - and really, 4-9 celsius is not *that* cold - that's about the weather we're having right now and I'm just wearing a light jacket and a long sleeved shirt....buuut I'm also not from Cali LOL
Florence:
Weather in Florence
Florence is at its best from late March until June, and from September until mid-November. When the weather is sunny and not too hot.
It would be really romantic to visit when it's not crowded with tourists and if you get cold you can always keep each other warm |

Leia - you should still go - it will be chilly but not storming. make sure to get hotels with fireplaces and you will have many, many good reasons to go back to your cozy room and warm up
