New idea for those using ipod as dj!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well my Fi is a bar manager and we were all sitting around discussing our wedding as he was closing out and there dj that night said that he could make us a whole wedding playlist that we could put on our ipod!!!!! He told us that we just need to give him a list of specific songs and an idea of how we wanted the night to go i.e mix of slow songs 80's 90's etc etc and that he could pre mix it so that it would flow all together and be as there was a dj actually there. Yes there would be no mcing but we wont have that anyway since we are using the ipod. Hwe is doing it for free for us but i thought i would share the idea so any of you might happen to know a dj in your area you could ask them if maybe they could do something similar and i cant see them asking too much specially if you know them. Hope this will help a few of my girls out there!!!!!smile123.gif

That's a great idea! My friend's husband is doing the same thing for us! The idea came after the dj for her birthday party flaked and her husband had to dj the place himself. It was one of the best parties EVER and I asked him to do the music for our wedding when the time came. I think it's a great idea. My only concern is - what if something happens to the ipod? the other day mine froze for no good reason sad.gif

also, I backed everything up to CD in the order I wanted them and brought them with me just in case.
I never thought about backing everything up on CD just in case. Did you bring a cd player as well? Also, I wonder how many cd's you used...If I compose all of these songs on discs, I am sure it will be at least 20 cds.

no we didn't bring a CD player I figured if something happened we would just have to use there sound system with our CD's.

I think I had 6 CD's.

I used one for the important songs

1 for the music while people were waiting at the ceremony area

2 for dinner music

and 3 for the reception

we had a mariachi band for cocktail hour

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
