Congratulations! You look lovely and your day sounds like it went smothly. Thank you for the amazing review. I love your beach set up. Can I ask the details of how much tulle you used? I so want to steal your ideas, if you don't mind. It is so great that you were able to do the free wedding package and still make it personalized. thanks again for a great review.

Thanks so much Paul for the great pictures! I'd love to get a copy of them when you send the video if that's possible (my photographer may have similar ones but I'm not sure as I haven't seen any of hers yet)
Only a week for the video? I can't wait!!!!
I mentioned on the last page that the white tulle is the resort's and the turquoise tulle, which is mine, required the entire bolt (54" x 40 yards). The 8 chair bows used the entire small roll of tulle (6" x 25 yards) although I think it could have been done with less since it wasn't necessary to have such long ends hanging down from the starfish.

I just cannot wait to get married at Dreams now! We were planning on getting one of the packages, so that we could have a sit down dinner.
Would you say that was not worth it?
Was the Buffet set up good? Was it still special?
Anything else you can recommend to a Dreams Tulum bride?
OH! Can you let me know if you have any problems registering your marriage with the province? One of our major concerns is the paperwork, bllod test, the 4 day pre-wedding requirement etc. So we are considering getting married here first...
Thank you so much!

Like I mention in my review, I thought the buffet dinner we had as a group (not on the wedding nice) was very nice and could be appropriate for a wedding, but it's up to you to decide what you want. If you want to do speeches (with a microphone) or dancing it would probably be better to reserve a restaurant all to yourself.
There are lots of good things the ultimate package has that the free one doesn't, including upgraded dinner menu for 20 people, cocktail hour, photos (most people pay the extra 350$ to get the CD), video (worth 380$), band (worth 350$) hairstyle & make-up (worth about 100$), spa service (worth 200-300$). You have to decide which of those you want and if it's worth getting the ultimate package, or just going with the free package and then paying seperately for the stuff you want.
As I indicated in my review, there is no need to register your mariage when you return to Canada.

Sunbride...I ABSOLUTELY love how you decorated the chairs and gazebo!!! I've now decided to change what I was going to do. I have already bought turquoise parasols (one per couple) and dark brown fans. I WAS going to pay extra to have dark brown bows tied around the chairs...but now I'm going to bring my own dark brown tulle instead (to soften it up a little instead of the rich dark brown bows).
Here is my dilemma and could use some advise. I like how the tulle on the chairs match the gazebo...do you think that dark brown tulle on the gazebo will look good? I'm concerned it might look to 'dark' (although I understand that tulle is more translucent). I love how you have the turquoise on the gazebo and how it looks so cool, clean and crisp (if that makes sense)...and so beachy. We also will have a bright layer of turquoise when everyone is sitting using their parasols. I think it will look good, but any advise would be great.
Stargazer lillies are my favorite...so I'm going to ask to have the same thing done with the flowers along the aisle and the sides of the gazebo. If we go with brown tulle on the gazebo...I could either wrap turquoise or white ribbon around the flowers on the gazebo...what do you think?
I'm starting to get really indecisive. I'm pretty good with matching colors, but I'm having a hard time visualizing this!
If any of you other girls want to chime in, please feel free! I'd like to figure out what I'm going to do and buy the products so I can check it off the list and not worry about it anymore!
Thanks...Sarah

It's true that the tulle shows up very light, when mine was rolled up it looked much darker, because on the gazebo it is probably only like 2 layers thick. So I think brown would work. However I personally think turquoise would work better. Or why not use both? If you do it exactly like mine, you could get them to use the brown in the back (rather than white) and turquoise in the front (where I have turquoise). I think that would look amazing and you would still have your brown but it would be a little less front and center.
For the chair bows, brown would look great. You could also alternate them brown and turquoise!
I had parasols leaning against the chairs, and my guests didn't use them! Mom said they didn't know if they were "suppose" to or not :) She was so carefull about doing things like I wanted! So make sure a couple of your guests know to use them and get the trend started. I think it would have been cool to have a photo of the ceremony of all the guests holding parasols, but oh well. We did use them for the photos after, but then I felt like they were more of a photo prop rather than something actually usefull (i.e. for blocking sun during the ceremony).
I also had the palm leaf fans (tucked into the chair bow on the inside) but nobody used those either seeing as it is very windy on the beach. So I would suggest to future brides not to bother with those.
On a different note, at one of the weddings before mine they had a red aisle runner, and I didn't think it looked very nice at all because the bridesmaid dress was pink! After seeing that I made sure Landy knew I didn't want the aisle runner, she said that they don't normally use it but the bride had requested it. Another thing is that the aisle runner makes it difficult to walk if you are wearing shoes, I noticed it as everyone walked down the aisle, especially the mother of the bride. They had to exaggeratingly lift their feet. So I think aisle runners in the sand are a bad idea.
One thing I had thought of doing (but didn't have a picture to show Landy so didn't bother) was having some tulle, kinda twisted or tied with ribbons, so it wouldn't be too wide, along the aisle. So it would go under the flower arrangements and serve to kinda "attach" the flower arrangements and make a more defined aisle. Just an idea if anyone is interested.

Your set up looked gorgeous!!!
This is what I plan on doing.
My Mom and I are making the hanging flowers using fake orchids. I can't get the measurements for the gazebo from them. Just curious if you knew? = )
