This is exactly what I am worried about! I want my guests to have a good time too and be in the photos. I will take your advise and book them tonight! This is just crazy. I leave 2 weeks from today! I spent close to the last year counting down the months. Now it is weeks and soon will be days! Holy cow!

Hey Mrs. R2be!

I have pics (I hope that I can recover those, they were from my December visit....my hard drive died) of the River suites ( I was really lucky that one was available, my visit was right between when one guest left and the next was due to arrive : ) !)- when we were there the suites on the second floor were all booked. However they told us that the second floor suites were primarily identical to the first floor swim out suites.

As far as upgrades....Sandals Negril usually runs at a really high occupancy level which makes upgrades hard to come by. If there is availabilty most often they will upgrade the brides & grooms first- it's just that quite often there isn't availability!

Thanks TA Jennifer. But probably my favorite part about our wedding...there will be no guests! :) But, I'll keep you in mind in the future.

How about the Grande is it often that bride and grooms get upgraded there? Any advice or anything you have to offer is greatly appreciated!

Wife 2 be-

The Grande is another resort that usually has high occupancy levels- I always advise to book the room category that you want and if you get upgraded great- if not your still happy!

The swim up suites are the only ones that tend to get upgraded- that's because there are only a few of them and they can get overbooked sometimes. Often the couples do not want the upgrades from the River Suites though!!

The Beachfront Rondavel rooms are amazing-if you can splurge on those you won't be disappointed!

Ahh if we get upgraded, we do and if not I am really okay with that. My priorities were with spending money elsewhere rather than in the room we won't be in much. And I understand with the renovations that all the rooms are pretty nice anyway. I was just curious-thanks!

Talking Re: Sandals Brides Updates!

Hello everyone! We are eloping.. yup just the two of us and we booked SGOR for this November!! I am very thankful for this site.. and others. they have given me so much information. A destination wedding was our best decision ever... and because it's only the two of us.. setting this up should be a breeze! (I hope) haha. We won't have too much for the wedding co-ordinator to do. I was lucky to squeak in and get my bouquet, my grooms bout. and a flower for my hair booked in time through Angel's. I wanted something I can keep.

As for photos, I've heard they will just snap photos of you anyways, and you get to pick some if you want. I think $200 to put them on a cd is crazy, but may have to do this.

We are booked into the Plantation Villa/1br suite with private pool and patio. We wanted the Romeo and Juliette suite but is was gone. We wanted our own pool!!! We have the butler service so the wedding ceremony etc. is included. The only things i need to spring extra for is the photos. Sorry, but I just can't book $1200 pic. package. Ouch!

Look forward to hearing more from all of you!!

Today Darma told me that the sand ceremony is an extra $100 dollars. It sounds like everyone else was told that it is not an extra charge. I wonder if the price is for the supplies, like the vases and sand; she didn't specify. Any opinions on this?

To help answer your questions:

Yes, you can take your own cake topper and toasting glasses. I don't have a cake topper, but I do have a cake server set and toasting glasses that I'm taking with us. I also made programs that I am taking along as well.

The sand ceremony isn't part of the regular ceremony, but it can be added if you request it. You will just have to provide your own supplies. There's no cost to add the sand ceremony, per Darma. We're adding this to our ceremony, along with the Blessing of the Hands reading.

We're having a 1 hour private cocktail reception with hot and cold hor d'ouvres. How many guests do you have? We only have 10 guests, including ourselves, so the $25 price tag per person isn't bad especially considering you get a private location and bar only for your guests for that amount of time. We're not having an AHR, so our reception at Sandals is our only post-wedding celebration. However, we didn't see the point in paying more $$$ for more time and a full dinner. With our wedding being at 1 pm, we figure that everyone will be heading back to their respective resorts around dinner time.

I hope that helps!
