Have you used or plan to use the hair stylist/make up staff at the Riu Ochi? If so, could you please post your pictures or give some feedback. My date is for 8/16/08 and my planned traveling stylist may not make it to Jamaica.

I will probably go to MAC to get my make up and bring it down and maybe take a picture of my trial appointment, but when it comes to hair I really have no idea if they can do all types of hair.

 

I already have the pic of the hair style and will be sending it to them.

I'll let you know what they say.

Yes, we needed this thread!! I'm blessed to have a friend here in Delaware who is a MAC Genius! She works for Mac but does work on the side. I have a couple of consultations set up with her and will purchase whatever products I need to take with me. Chandlyn at the RIU informed me that the girls are well qualified girls that she would use herself. I'm going to prep before going with my stylist and pray for the best. Hopefully this thread will flourish with some great pics and pointers.

My stylist is planning on attending, BUT SHE HASN"T BOOKED ANYTHING YET.......so i'm worried!!! Either way, I'm carrying ALL of my styling tools........

Join the club! My stylist is not booked yet either! We had a misunderstanding or basic non-communication about what was expected as far as paying for her services. She just happens to be a relative who is also in my wedding party. I had not planned on paying her entire expense for travel, maybe half, but she thought I was going to do total. One of my bridesmaids is of mixed ethnicity, and she was sooo happy with the way her hair was done at the resort! She always says no one in Canada knows how to handle her hair! Her makeup was done by Nicole as well, she looked great, here's her pic:

Thanks for this thread bcuz my stylist will not be able to attend & I'm up in the air about letting someone from a resort do mine. My plan is to go to my stylist and take a pic of how I want my hair the day of my wedding. My MOH is going to go with me to see if she can help recreate the style too. But basically I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

I agree with Jmhein. They did awesome. And remember they are ethnic also!! So I bet they can do your hair fine. Don't worry!
