Has anyone booked a hairdresser and/or makeup artist in the Kihei/Wailea/Lahaina area? I know my WC will recommend someone for me, but I'd love to hear if anyone's had good or bad experiences with any particular hairdresser or makeup artist.

my WC just got back to me and told me she booked me with Jean. lol. Little help that is! She doesn't have a website though, it sounds like my WC is trying to promote her. I was happy with the pictures I saw of the work she did- it was elegant, and not too heavy on the make-up. I can try to get her contact number if you're interested, but I have a feeling you might want to see her stuff.
The girl who's pics I saw was really just an acquaintance of mine so I don't really have access to them. Sorry, I thought I could be a better help!
My WC is Makena Weddings if that helps at all...

Thanks for the feedback! It turns out that the Wailea Marriott, where we're having our ceremony and where're staying for a few nights around the wedding, has a salon and spa. A friend of mine had her wedding hair done there, and she was happy with it, so I think I'm going to book an appointment with them.

Just a further update. As I noted earlier, I've decided to use the salon at the Wailea Marriott, where we're having our ceremony, because a friend of mine had her wedding hair done there and was happy. I've since also decided that I'm going to do my own makeup, but I'm going to have MAC do at least a couple of trials for me before we leave for Hawaii. I'd like to think I'm pretty good at doing my own makeup, but I want them to put together an extra special look for me for my extra special day!

PS - I had been hoping to have MAC do my makeup on the day, but it looks like the MAC location nearest to Wailea/Kihei is in Kahului, and that seems like too long a drive to do on my wedding day!

That's a good idea though Sherry- too bad MAC isn't closer. I'm sure you'll be able to get some good tips from your local MAC before you go though.

Hi girls
The make up artist that I have is Jessica Waite....everyone who has had her speaks very highly of her work, and the hairdresser that I have is Dan Sanchez....too be honest with you, I don't know anyone who hasn't used them! They are sooo good that you have to book way in advance!
Just thought you would like too know, as I have researched this topic for almost 1 year!!!!
