Paper OOT bags? Thoughts please...

Recommended Posts

I had a thought about OOT bags. First of all, i think that the men might not use them at all on their trip, it will probably only be the women. And after the wedding & vacation, will they ever use them again?

What about this.....save money on the OOT bags themselves, and spend more on the stuff in 'em. The bags can get thrown away after (or kept by some of the people who like to keep things as momentos).

Does this seem cheap? Or practical? I have been looking at the many OOT bag threads, and I havent seen anyone mention this. Maybe it is totally tacky and I should just forget this idea.

You can buy nice white bags, but they also come in all sorts of colors as well. And I was thinking of having our logo (which I don't have yet) made into big stickers to put on the bags.

I just can't see anyone using a bag after the wedding that has "Bradley and Holly... July 8th, 2008" on the side of it, ever again.

Don't get me wrong, the bags that have been posted on here are gorgeous... and I dont want anyone to think I think they are a bad idea, I still may go that route myself. i just may rather spend money on the stuff inside, than the bags themselves.

I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Thanks!

A lot of girls decided to do this I think. Their thoughtwave was... That way they can throw them away and it is less to bring back with them. I have seen some "way cute" paper OOT bags. I have thought of doing the same. I am thinking a lot of people will already pack a beach bag in their luggage if they expect to use one.

I've gotten paper OOT bags from weddings and I didn't think twice about it. I agree about people not wanting to tote around something with your logo on it after they return home. If I do canvas OOT bags, I will probably do something with St Lucia on it instead of our names.

That's not to take away from anyone else's work. The bags I have seen on here are fabulous.

there have definitly been really cute paper bags with logos stuck on the side. You can even save money on having it made into a sticker & glue it on.

I bought cheap totes from oriental trading for 70 cents each. Then I'm going to make a little tag to go on them. I decided against monograming the bags to save money to have more to spend on whats inside. Many girls make a monogram that either doesn't have names or has them really small.

personally, i think canvas tote bags are nicer than paper but it depends on final cost.

i got my canvas bags for $0.90 each and i got the iron on transfer paper on ebay for 25 sheets for $10 - then i pritned 2 images on each piece of transfer paper.

also, i created a logo for the OOT bags without our names b/c i agree i would not want to use a bag with someone elses name on it.

my BM's and i finished the iron on's this week - i still have to take pics but will post sometime this week!

I think the paper ones are fine!!! And some people will appreciate not having more stuff to lug home - one of the reasons we abandoned the idea of towels.

I'm just going to re-do our logo without our names. Ultimately, the extra $0.50 or so per bag is worth it to me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
