Totally late in responding but it may help someone! My FI are honeymooning at Verana. It's about an hour from PV by taxi and a 20 min boat ride from there. It's so lovely and small (there are only 7 villas I believe). The best part is that it will all be paid for before we arrive so there's not that bit to worry about. You should check it out.

I think we are going to do a few days in San Pancho (San Francisco) which is a sleepy fishing village an hour from PV, with gorgeous beaches and villas.
