Hey Tammy, I am not sure about Maui but a great photog who lives on the big island (does travel to maui) is James Rubio. We are photographers and hired him to do our wedding renewal this Sept. Big Island Wedding Photographer, Hawaii, Hilo, Kona, Big Island Wedding Photography | James Rubio

we just made the decision...we are having a ceremony and reception in Mexico, but our actual wedding will be just the two of us during our honeymoon in Hawaii (shhh). i'd like it to be special, but not over the top...can anyone recommend a hotel or resort that puts on lovely "just us two" weddings? we're open to any island at this point as we plan to jump around a bit during our two weeks there after our Mexico "party"

Hi Neen,
We are doing the same thing. The most popular resorts for weddings in Oahu would be: Kahala, JW Marriott, Royal Hawaiian and Halekulani. There are also beautiful gardens where you can get married: Anela Gardens ($800 fee), Molii Garden (Kualoa Ranch - also with fee). Depending on what you are looking for. For officiant we are going with Alice Inoue (she is very popular!). I will post some of wedding planning here after our wedding. OUr wedding is in August 7, 2008 and it will be very much like yours- just the two of us on our honeymoon! WE are getting married at Makapuu Point! Take care!

If you are open to any island -- Kauai is the most romantic I heard. We are also going there for the honeymoon part and a great wedding spot would be a botanical garden called Na Aina Kai!

Well we finally decided that we are defintely getting married in Kauai. We havent picked an exact location, but we do know it will be on the North Shore. So once we find a location, we will pick an exact date. But for now we have this.
