How much are you guys planning on spending on your weddings? My FI and I have basically nothing to spend. I am a full time student and work part time, he works full time. He bought a townhouse through a housing program June of last year in the area that I was already living in. If he did not but the townhouse we were offered, there would be no way we could afford to live where we do. Our income basically equals our expenses right now. In summary we are broke and depending probably on our tax returns and family donations to finance our wedding. I live in Northern Virginia so I know a destination wedding will cost us a fraction of what one would cost here. I am pretty much set on Paradise Bridal Consultants, so I am looking at about $5k for the actual wedding/reception.
I guess I just want an idea of what weddings are costing other people in this area...

i got married May 2007. i can give you a basic breakdown of what i spent on my saint thomas wedding. our wedding had 25 guests.
Wedding Related $$
- wedding coordinator $175
- flowers $65
- officiant $200
- steel drum band $200
- ceremony decorations (arch, seating, rum punch set up, flower and shell aisle, etc) $400
- reception $2300
- favors $150
- transportation to ceremony and reception for guests $300
Other $$
- villa for 10 days $1800
- flights from NJ to Saint Thomas for 2 $950
- 10 day car rental for DH and I $800
- spending money $2500
I think that's it. That's all I can remember anyway!

Do a search and I am sure it will pop up. It is very cool, lists all sorts of budgets from different weddings and destinations.

If you use her, she will make sure you will not go over your budget!!!! We also had a budget and she made sure we stayed in it!! I am telling you, she is very good at what she does and she will make it VERY nice! When I get home i will accept you as a friend on myspace and you can look at the pics! You will be amazed! They are BEAUTIFUL!!!

Also, Have you thought of where you want to stay  ? If you would like something a little cheaper than the all inclusive resorts their I have the the GREATEST condos EVEr you could stay in that were very affordable!!! I will also give you that info when I get home, i have all the info!

I held my reception on Megans Bay under a pavillion... Then we went back to the condos and had a party there!! We had a BLAST!!! I am so glad she is on here now, I told her she needded to sing up!!!
