Confused about points? Even after reading other points threads...

I have read all of the posts on how to earn points but I'm still a little confused...I've seen other posters on the forum who have fewer posts but seem to have earned way more points than I have (and I haven't opened more than 1 attachment so far). I know that one of the ways I can earn points is also by reading through posts and searching the forum which trust me....I am doing so much and so often I seriously need to get back to work already! :-)...but I only seem to get more points when I post something.

I also read some posts about "stealing" or thiefing" points but that doesn't seem very nice.

Am I doing something wrong?

You only get 1.00 point per thread view, but you get 10.00-15.00 points for posting a thread, and 5.00 for replying to an existing thread.

Plus I just donated some to ya! Everytime I get over 1000.00 or so I try to "bank" my overage so I can "earn" interest on points. But I hadn't done this recently so I figured I would give 'em to you! Pay it forward, ya know

you do not get points for searching.
You can also get points by playing the lottery.
If you steal or thief you actually get points taken away from you. I think Drea and her hubby tried that already.
You have quite a few points built up, but you might want to put 200 or so in the bank and they will earn interest.

it's all luck - sometimes if you steal, you get them taken away, sometimes you actually get the points. doesn't seem worth it to me! and the more active you are on the forum (actually contributing) the more points you earn.

also, if you don't need to open attachments, then you really don't NEED points! so don't worry about it, and they will add up.

All the talk about stealing was more of a joke. We just wanted to see how it works. No one steals points to actually accumulate points (unless it's from banned members). If we were successful at stealing, we donated them back. It was just a test really.

Thank you for the information! I plan to continue to participate in the forum as my wedding planning progresses...whether it's to ask questions or to answer other peoples once I'm farther along with my own planning and actually know some stuff! :-)

I haven't needed to open more than one attachment yet, but I know that I'm going to shortly once I'm ready to do my STD's. I think it's awesome that people share their templates, especially since there are people like me out here who would be completely lost without help!

also - do a search for templates and you will find a bunch of threads that have internet links instead of templates so you won't need any points to open those!

I think you can earn points by playing in the arcade too. I haven't done it but I think I read somewhere that that will help.
