Dreams PV pics

I got these pictures and comments from a girl on the PV Brides Yahoo group and thought it was helpful in picturing what Dreams PV looked like, so I thought I'd share. There are too many pictures for me to upload, so hopeuflly this link works. And here are the comments she provided, they go along with some of the pictures in this album.

Yahoo! Photos - Dreams Puerto Vallarta

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oceana

Here are a few pictures of Oceana restaurant. To give some context, Dreams is set up on a private beach. The beach is long and straight facing the water (not a cove opening to a bay-like area). On one end there is 1 restaurant, which I forgot the name of. At the end that is closest to town, is Oceana Restaurant.

The picture with the blue background in it is actually of one of the walls at Oceana -- it is a design on the walls. The restaurant is definitely done in blues. The chairs are not normally set up there though -- it was morning and the restaurant was closed and not set up for dinner yet.

Lobby Bar

Right off of the front lobby at Dreams there is a great bar/lounge area. It has some tables and chairs, and is partially covered -- the bar itself and part of the bar area is under a roof, but it is then open so that the rest of the bar area is in the open air.

We thought it would be perfect for a welcome reception, but they told us that it cannot be reserved for private events or groups. So you can tell your friends/family/ guests to all meet there at a certain time for drinks, but you can't exclude other Dreams' guests from being there.

I didn't ask about how much it would cost to reserve it though -- at first the Dreams people said that nothing could be reserved for a private party, but then after asking and offering to pay extra for reserving a restaurant, they said Oceana can be reserved for your private event for an extra $2,700. So they might accept a fee to reserve the front bar too, who knows.

It looked like an ideal spot for about 30-50 people.

Gazebo View from Upper Pool

This picture is really poor, and I apologize because many of you have been asking about the pool area that Dreams has said is available for your welcome dinner/reception, etc. But its all I have unfortunately.

I call it the "upper pool" area because its a little bit away from the main pool, and up a few stairs. It's not much higher than the main pool, but its a little past it and it definitely would feel seperate from the main pool and other public areas if it was set up for your dinner/reception.

In the picture you can see that there is a small gazebo in the distance. It's right next to the upper pool and that upper pool deck area. People do get married at the gazebo, but the area is pretty small -- it could probably only fit about 10-12 guests. I thought it may be an option for where to place the bar if you had a dinner/reception nearby, like at the upper pool area. But it is pretty small, so that might not be possible.

In the picture you can't see the area around the upper pool, but there is a lot of space around the upper pool to set up tables, etc. I really don't know how many people could fit in that area, seated for dinner, but I'd guess maybe 100?

Ann! Thanks for the info. Now I can tell that this picture is next to the upper pool. I wonder if you can go directly from the beach from here. My SIL gave me a good idea. She said I should ask if I can have the dance floor, the band, and the lounge set up on the beach and have the dinner set up on an area like this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
