On the sofa bed

Recommended Posts

Ok, here is my story...

My FI decided to take me to Canada on vacation. We started out in Saskatoon, drove to Calgary then to Banff to stay at the Fairmont up there. So, I guess the plan was he was going to wait until we got to the Fairmont which is like a huge castle hotel it's amazing. Well, the night before we got to Banff well, actually the morning of we were laying on his mom's pull out sofa bed about to go to sleep in Calgary. It was about 3 am. (We had stayed up late talking with his Mom and his best friend) Ryan said " What do you think of my friend's and family?" And I said " I think they are amazing. They are all so nice" He went on to ask me some other odd ball questions. Finally, as I was trying to sleep I turned over to face him. All the lights were out so I could barely see him with the street lights from outside shining in. I said "why are you asking me all these questions?" I was totally oblivious to any idea that he might have be proposing I was with him the entire vacation. And I knew he didn't have a ring on the way there 'cause we got checked at customs. So, he says " I wanted to know if you would marry me" and I laugh and say "you can't ask me to marry you" and he looked at me like I was crazy and I said "you don't even have a ring" he goes "yes I do" he lifted his ballcap off the table next to the sofa and there was a box with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. I was in such shock I just kept saying OMG OMG When did you get a ring?! He finally goes "Baby... yes right?" lol I started crying and said YES!! Although it wasn't a proposal in the castle that it was meant to be. It meant so much more. He told me he tried to wait but he was so excited and loved me so much he couldn't wait a moment longer. And the way he got the ring was I was trying on snowboots at a store called The Bay and he left to go to the restroom. Apparently, he ran to the store bought the ring really fast and ran back. He said he was ducking behind the displays 'cause as impatient as I am he thought I would come looking for him!! LOL anyway that is the story! pinkie.gif

I was talking to one of my guy friends and he told me that he's been warned not to have the ring in his possession until its the right time for exactly that reason.
I totally agree with you. I love that he was too excited to follow his plan. Plus, I know that if I had the ring in my possession, I wouldn't have been able to wait either.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
