wedding coordinators

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,

My name is Deb and my fiancee and I are hoping to get married in Puerto Vallarta in May of 2009. I have tickets to go down and look around in about 6 weeks. I haven't decided yet if I will start off looking around on my own or try to hook up with a Wedding Coordinator. I do speak Spanish and Edú my fiancee is Mexican. I'm interested in hearing about your experiences with Wedding Coordinators in PV. What kind of money are we talking about to hire a coordinator and what all do you get? Thanks in advance for your help.

Deb

Hi Deb,

I am getting married at Las Caletas in PV and my wedding coordinator is Nicole. She is awesome! Her fee is included in the package.

I would take a look in the PV section of this forum and you will get lots of info. Mayan Palace is another popular and beautiful choice too...I can't remember who the girls are working with there.

good luck!

Hi Deb,

We met with Zac at EM Vallarta and Weddings by Lana when we were in Vallarta in November. I also talked to Judy at WeddingsinPuertoVallarta when I first started planning. I finally decided on Michael and Eva from VallartaWeddings.com after speaking to multiple references. Here are my thoughts:

Zac Puerto Vallarta Weddings, Event Planning and Catering Services, Weddings Puerto Vallarta - Zac was great and I would totally trust him to do an amazing wedding, but at $235 a head, I might as well get married here in San Francisco. And that didnt included the venue costs, transportation, etc.

Lana Vallarta Weddings By Lana, Worry-Free Wedding Planners and Event Coordinaters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - We met with Jorge and Ruben who work with Lana and represent Villa Celeste. We really liked them - they would have done a great job and made it authentic Mexican I am sure, but we decided against Villa Celeste - it was just too expensive, and none of the other properties they represent were large enough for us.

Judy Home - www.weddingsinpuertovallarta.com - I liked Judy at first and was ready to book, but then she wouldnt give us any references, and didnt work with any contract. She was pressing us to send the deposit, and we just were expected to hope for the best. Not my idea of a professional wedding planner.

Michael and Eva Vallarta weddings - we booked Michael and Eva after we decided that Judy wasnt right for us. So far things have been great, though they do take a while to respond to emails. References were very positive. We shall see what happens...

Good Luck!

Hi Deb,

We are getting married at the RIU Vallarta Hotel. Their wedding coordinator services are included in the wedding package. I guess it all just depends on what you want to do. There are so many choices.

Let us know what type of wedding you are looking for, if you want it at a hotel, a private restaurant, or a villa and I'm sure someone here can help you give you some direction.

Good luck and welcome!

Hey Ladies,

Thanks everyone for all the info so far. We are shooting for a May 2009 wedding and I have just started looking at all the options. I have absolutely scoured this forum and have looked at so many hotel websites I think I can name every hotel in Jalisco!

I am scheduled to go to PV for a week in April and start looking around. I had originally hoped to just pick a hotel and do everything through the in house planner but am now feeling quite overwhelmed. We are paying for all of this ourselves and that will include flying my parents in from Wisconsin, several members of his family in from Mexico City as well as paying for @ 10 hotel rooms for 4 nights. So I need to be smart with planning. I originally thought paying someone else to coordinate would not be worth it but now want to at least interview a few when I get to PV.

Thanks to Erika's post I have some idea who I might try first but wondering who here as experience with Prisar Vallarta?

Thanks,

Deb

Hi Deb!

I am using Prisar. So far she is great! I was avoiding hiring an outside WC but was getting overwhelmed when we were having issues booking the church. Within 4 days Priscilla had the churched book and we still hadn't sent her our deposit!

She's great!

Edna is using her aswell and Jamie Lynn has met her (and is possibly using her for her RD, not sure). You can also find a review by Christinepg who used her as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
