Default Re: Ceremony songs

I think most of your guests woul still expect to hear the traditional wedding march, since most don't know about all the ideas on BDW. :-) So, if you found a beachy version of it, I think that's perfect!

We are being relatively UN-traditional.

"Ground Control to Major Tom" (Tom is an Army Major) will play as the cue for Tom and his GM to take their palces, as well as for the guests to be seated.

Then it will segueway into Michelle Featherstone's "We Are Man and Wife" and Secondhand Serenade's "Awake". (The BM's will walk down the aisle to those two songs.)

I will walk down the aisle to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole singing his melody of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World".

As soon as we say 'I Do', Smashmouth's "I'm a Believer" will start playing as we kiss and walk back down the aisle.

Toby Mac's "Made To Love You" (fast, upbeat song) might be what we are welcomed into the reception with. Esthero's "Everyday's A Holiday (With You)" is also a definite.

And cake cutting is definitely to "I Wanna Grow Old With You" - Adam Sandler.

Ok so maybe someone can help me out Im confused by the processional, recessional, etc and how many songs I need to have, how long, etc. Can someone explain any of this to me or point me in the right direction.
I don't know what other resorts are like but when we married at the Riu Playacar, I didn't know it until I got there that I needed 4 songs. One for when the bridesmaids are walking down the isle, one for me walking down the isle, one for the signing of the marriage certificate, and one for us leaving. I had only brought with me the song I wanted to walk down the isle to. Luckily the rest of our family was still at home when I found out so they were able to download the songs I wanted and bring with them when they came.

Thank you so much. At least I know I will need at least 4 songs and a few extra just in case LOL.
My FI and his BM want to walk down to the Imperial March from Star Wars. Im a good sport so I allowed it. I have a Mr. and Mrs. Potato head cake topper for goodness sake how could I not go along with it.

Yes, I didn't even think about needing extra songs for the ceremony. I thought I was being smart by having my song for walking down the isle LOL! So yes, definitly have a few extra songs on hand, just in case.

I will walk down the aisle to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole singing his melody of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World". He also has a GREAT song called White Sandy Beach....perfect to walk back up to I think, I wanted it has our first dance but we finally agreed on "Brighter Than Sunshine" by Aqualung.
I also think the harp will sound beautiful. It will sound very beautiful on the beach.

Edit Note: Dixie Chicks - Lullaby. Such a great song for a wedding video.

Will this sound weird?? Opinions please ladies :)
