Yeah my travel agent emailed the WC the other day, she's usually quicker with her responses to the travel agent compared to me. Quick question for you girls are U doing a lot of planning with the WC now before the wedding, or a lot of it when U finaly get there

It's been really hard for me to communicate wth the WC, so I've pretty much given up......i have my confirmation email which i'll be bringing along......but other than that, I think it's just best if you get things figured out when you get there. I've had quite few friends that have done destination weddings and the best advice they gave me was to not worry, everything will come together when you get down there.

Thanks for the advice RubyRingo, I'm trying to be really laid back about it.... sometimes I just feel like I'm not doing enough, but I do understand most of the planning happens with the WC at the meeting :) and I'm sure everything will work out in the end!!!!!!

I'm going to do all my planning once I get there and I'm not going to worry about things I can not control. This is the reason I choose a destination wedding, there isn't much planning so less stress.

However, I thought I would share this will all EdenH brides. When I found out Grisel was no longer the WC I emailed the resort to get confirmation that my reservation had been made and this is the response that I received;

"I have the file in my office, wedding is confirmed on January 13th 2009, confirmations No. ____, a traditional wedding package, you can choose it at list one month before.

You will pay since you receive the confirmations wedding; first 50% and 50% in date of arrive."

Her english is a little broken, but I believe we need to pay 50% of the wedding package once we have a confirmation number and the other 50% upon arrival.

Is anyone else aware of this? How did you pay?

i definatly wasnt aware of that!
i thought you had to pay in cash full when you got there!
when they sent me my conformation they just said i had to send a copy of my documents, but nothing about 50% payment!

I wasn't aware of that either... they have never said anything about the 50% before. Since I have a few people who are waiting until the last minute, it's also kind of hard to know exactly how many and all that stuff :) oh well NO STRESS!!!!

This is my first time hearing about the 50% before as well.

I have written over 3 or 4 emails since July 12th asking several questions and trying to confirm a few things. I finally got a response back this weekend. Wanna know what is was..... 'Ok. Thanks.'

kind of response is that! I wont even go on my usual WC rant today, I dont have the energy,lol.

Anyhoo, how many guests are you ladies expecting?

So far I have 19 booked, but we are expecting another 9 people to book before August 8th.

Gotta love that response from the WC!!!! I'm expecting over 20 people or more, just keeping it small. I'll have a reception when we get back for everyone who couldn't make.
