Re: Pelican Bay at Lucaya (Bahamas)
Hi Tobi
We're getting married at the (Westin Our Lucaya) on Grand Bahama next weekend. I've looked into many different islands (esp. St. Thomas and St. John) and I picked Grand Bahama because the rooms were affordable for our guests and there are numerous flight options. Please let me know if you're still looking at different destinations.

Re: Pelican Bay at Lucaya (Bahamas)
Hi Tobi, sorry I don't know anything about that resort....I'm getting married in Nassau at The Poop Deck Restaurant, Sandyport....I haven't finalized everything yet, but I'm pretty sure that's where we will be!

Re: Pelican Bay at Lucaya (Bahamas)
I was there in August and they were doing some renovations so you kinda had to walk around the digging. I'm not sure when the renovations will be over. My fiance is from the Bahamas so I travel there pretty frequently when we go visit his family and friends.
I initially looked into getting married at Pelican Bay but I had a bad experience when I went to the appointment. I waited so long for the woman who I scheduled the appointment with that I fell asleep!! I ended up leaving and never meeting with her so that left a very bad taste in my mouth. I did get a chance to take a peek at the gazebo where they conduct the ceremony and it was just decent to me...not wow. I'm sure when its all decorated and so on that it can look very pretty.
I hear that the rooms are very nice although I didn't see it for myself. Have you tried the Sheraton/Westin resort? It's right across the street from Pelican Bay and they have a nice open area and a pretty gazebo for weddings. I hear its a little pricey though but the resort is great. My wedding party and guest will be staying there when I get married next month.
