Any ideas on where to start with vows???

We would really like to write our own vows and have an idea but not sure where to start We are having a legal ceramony and I have heard for it to be leagal there has to be some cirtain wording, does anyone know anything about this? Thanx girls

We told our WC that we had written our own vows. We had a legal wedding as well and they are very strick in Mexico, and it needs to be done a certain way, but if you tell your WC he/she will be able to work it into your ceremony, it worked out perfectly..

We had a legal wedding in MX and wrote our own vows. Your WC should be able to give you a copy of what the legal wording has to be. You can add anything you want to the ceremony - you just can't take away or change anything that is there. We added two readings, put in our own vows, and added a hand ceremony.

 

For the vows in particular we actually wrote them on a plane. We just started talking about what was important to us and what we each have to make an effort to do. For example, we have to both work to talk about what is bothering us right when it starts (we both like to fester for a while which makes it worse). So, we put something in there about sharing issues. We also wrote some funny ones. We each came up with about 10 funny vows, then each picked 2 of those but left the choice a surprise for the ceremony.
