In January 7-13 to be exact I will be in LA. My son is competing in Acting and Modeling at the Westin Boniventure Hotel in LA.
Anyway I have been told that I will have that Saturday maybe 2 hours of free time. Can anyone give me some suggestions for a 5 year old who has been kept hostage in a hotel for 5 days. Maybe we can get together for drinks then as well.
I will post some pictures of the fine young lad when I get home.

I grew up right outside of LA. My favorite place was the children's museum. Granted I haven't been there in YEARS, but I assume it's still cool! Untitled Document
Not sure how close to the hotel that is. 2 hours can be really a short amount of time especially with LA traffic!

Cool! The Westin is a nice hotel, the rooftop restaurant is nice. Probably not a huge deal for you east-coasters but out here there aren't many skyscrapers where you can hang like that.
Um....since you don't have a full day to do a theme park what about Chuck E Cheese? I don't think there are any near downtown where the hotel is though. The California Science Center is cool, 2 hours is pretty short but it is downtown adjacent so travel would be easy. California Science Center
I'm always down to drink and January is kinda slow for me so let me know...I'd be glad to meet you for cocktails :o)

hmmm I don't know, I would say if you had a car and maybe a little bit more time (sorry Catherine), then you can take the 10fwy to Santa Monica to the pier. The pier has a fun zone with rides right on the beach....
around the Westin I'm not sure what fun things there is to do.....
I'm most likely going to be in that area visiting my sister and can meet you guys for lunch or a drink....:), that would be fun.

Good one Drea, he would LOVE the Santa Monica Pier. Any chance you'll get more time Catherine? Like Drea said, there are rides on the pier and they even have special rides for kids. Gorgeous views of the coast from the ferris wheel too. Even in January it's 95% likely that it will be sunny and not too cold, definitely not compared to PA. Im not sure what the exact schedule is yet, but I know alll of the kids will be doing there thing in the hotel and they love and spoil my demonseed so me sneaking away may not be a problem
