karma: 2 | Re: Jtds2713 Cabo Wedding Review DJ Ricardo: A+++: DJ Ricardo was wonderful to work with. He was always so prompt with responding to e-mails. He was also very professional and very very nice. He was one of the first vendors whom I booked. When I was still scouting for a venue, DJ Ricardo e-mailed me pictures of Sunset da Mona Lisa. He assured me that it will be a great venue for our wedding. I first met DJ Ricardo a few days prior to the wedding. I told him at the last minute that I needed Ave Maria for my bridal procession. During the wedding he was prepared with everything. He set up a mini booth at the ceremony site so the music can be heard during the Wedding Party Procession and Bridal Party Procession. We used a microphone for the ceremony free of charge. We gave him CDs for the Procession, Cocktail Hour, Dinner and Dancing. He played all the music that we wanted. He also willingly accepted requests from our guests. His equipment is up-to-date and his collection of music is remarkable. He also gave us a discount for his services. We were very happy with his services and we highly recommend DJ Ricardo.
Prior to the wedding, we promised DJ Ricardo that he and his assistant (his wife) will be served meals. Due to some miscommunication with the staff and my WC, they were not served their meals. But DJ Ricardo never said anything to me until after the wedding because he felt it was inappropriate to do so at the time and probably did not want to upset me. This to me shows a lot about the character of DJ Ricardo-- so patient, so considerate of our feelings. I still hope we can make it up to him and his wife for the inconvenience. We are still resolving this issue with Sunset da Mona Lisa.

karma: 2 | Re: Jtds2713 Cabo Wedding Review Lunas de Fuego (Firedancers): A+: Our guests were just in awe of their performance. We were so happy with Lunas de Fuego. I truly believe they are the best in the business. They worked with me in pricing so they did not bring live music (only recorded music) to keep the cost down. they performed for about 20 minutes and our guests marvelled at their performance. Their dance was our surprise for our guests and for many of our guests it was what made our wedding unique and outstanding.

Thanks SArah!
I am glad you appreciate it! I hope it will truly help other brides especially regarding RIU Santa Fe so they know what to expect.
I am having trouble posting pictures. In one computer the pictures are showing up, but in my laptop it is not. I have tried to reduce the size at Photobucket but still not working. Should I make it even smaller? I am copying the IMG code and pasting it.

karma: 2 | Re: Jtds2713 Cabo Wedding Review Redrum Sportfishing: A+ We had two boats. MOre than 10 people joined Jed at the fishing trip. Believe it or not, Jed's boat caught 11! Two marlins, some dorados, yellowtails, tunas! Unbelievable! I don't know how many the other boat caught but I know they were all very happy with Redrum! This was a highlight for all the guys! My brother-in-law said he was so impressed he gave them a larger tip than he originally thought he would. Redrum Sportfishing was featured in ESPN. They are professionals and outstanding fishermen. We highly recommend them -- they are one of the best in CAbo!
Tip: please bring Dramamine. Two out of the more than 10 people who went got seasick.

karma: 2 | Re: Jtds2713 Cabo Wedding Review Mexicana Airlines: C- - I wished I had booked through a travel agent. I will not fly Mexicana Airlines again. It was difficult dealing with their customer service and one agent was very rude while others were just not of much help. I booked my sister's family for NOvember 14 but when I got their itinerary it was for November 13. The bad part was my sister was not travelling with them since she was booked for the 14th. Her family had to go to Cabo without her and they travelled all the way from the Philippines. Nobody could help me at Mexicana and they said it was my fault and I must have entered the wrong date online when I booked.
We were also double billed. For my sister's fare, Mexicana charged both my sister's and my credit card. WE only found out about it in CAbo. We still need to fix this.
My brother got an e-mail from Mexicana to change his flight itinerary from Chicago to Cabo. On the way back from CAbo to Chicago Mexicana wanted to change their itinerary again to two stopovers instead of one. He had kids with him and after an intense argument they were upgraded to American Airlines direct flight.
Jed and I flew Mexicana and had a direct flight from Chicago to CAbo since the flight was operated by AA. From CAbo, the flight was delayed for one hour. Food was not good at all.
Everyone in my family and many of my friends' families flew Mexicana. This was because they had very tempting deals early in the year. But had we waited, American Airlines had a great sale from Chicago to CAbo in August. If you are getting married next year in November, wait for August and you will get better deals from AA from Chicago to Cabo. Once again, I wished I had a travel agent. I was initially going to work with TAmmy (host) but I thought we could do it on our own. It was ok in the end due to the incredible deals we got with RIU Santa FE (we were lucky RIU Santa Fe had a grand opening sale of $89 per person double occupancy) but it was a long and difficult process. A travel agent would have known about this earlier too and some guests who had booked at the RIU Palace could have gone with the Santa Fe had we known of the sale earlier. I acted as a novice travel agent and it took a lot of my personal time. I also realized now that you would get better service if you had a travel agent. For my guest who had so many problems with their room, I would have let a travel agent help them with that if I had one. I felt bad that I was not much help to my guests who were having problems with their hotel and travel accomodations. You really cannot deal with the stress of the wedding and your guests' problems. For a destination wedding it is truly important to have a travel agent. Please get one.

karma: 2 | Re: Jtds2713 Cabo Wedding Review Angel's Accents: A+: Her flowers and arrangements were beautiful. All of our guests had commented about our beautiful flowers. What made it an even more pleasant experience was that Angel was truly an Angel! So pleasant to work with! I got nickel vases from her which she gave to me for an outstanding wholesale price. I ordered an altar arrangement and she lent me the vase and told me I could return it anytime after the wedding. Since she lived in Illinois, we agreed to meet and I was able to personally meet her. She also gave me extra flowers just in case there will be problems with the arrangements due to shipping and handling. I had 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 bride's bouquet and 1 altar arrangement. I had corsages for all the sponsors and mothers in my wedding party and boutonnieres for the men. Miraculously I had no problems with any of them and they arrived in great condition. To pack them I used 20x20x20 boxes which I bought from FedEx and filled them with peanuts!
I will post pictures later when I get some pictures from my family. We had orchids, red calla lilies, and white lilies. Only the orchids and red calla lilies were natural touch. To be honest if I had to choose again, I would only go for the natural touch. I changed my mind about the white lilies since they were not natural touch but it was too late since Angel had ordered them already. Also if you could choose from the pictures of the arrangements which are already on her website, it will be better I think. I really did not ask for a picture of the exact arrangement of my flowers (my design was original for me only) and I only gave pictures of my tablescapes to Angel as inspiration. So I was getting nervous about how my flowers will turn out. She did send me a picture prior to delivery and she accomodated my request for some changes in the arrangement. Overall I was very pleased with all my flowers.
This is the bridesmaid's bouquet that was also reused as centerpiece ( we tucked the bouquet in the tussie holder).

And here is the Altar Arrangement that was also reused as centerpiece for parent's table:

Congrats Jessica! What a wonderful & detailed review - this will be so helpful for brides to come!
I am so excited about your TTD photos w/Bradley! I've thought about going back to Cabo on our one year anniversary & asking him to do TTD pics with us. Isn't he awesome? We just loved him to pieces. Everything looked AWESOME!!
Also - couldn't agree with you more regarding Suzanne Morel & her staff. So unbelievably professional & considerate - everything is always perfect with them. So glad you had such a great experience.

When I upload to Photobucket I think I use the 640x480 size, then just copy/paste the IMG code into the thread.
