Taxi Fares from PUJ to Resorts (Prices Listed Here)

Here are taxi rates between Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and the different resorts in Punta Cana. Posted here as well, (Punta Cana Airport ( PUJ ) Taxi Rates - Page 5 - DR1 Dominican Republic Forums) but thought I'd cut and paste for easier viewing. Good info to know.

We are going to take a taxi instead of the shuttle for three reasons:

1) the shuttle (although included in the package price) stops at various resorts along the way, making the trip longer than necessary

2) the shuttle travels via the by-pass, so you miss seeing any of the REAL DR

3) it's been recommended to take the taxi and have your driver stop at a local bar for a local beer and a "mingle" with the real DR people. We really want to do that as well (my concern is if our luggage will be safe in the taxi during this time)...

for the Sunscape The Beach at the same rate the transportation can be arranged with the hotel(contact Sunscape Mike on this Bord), so the driver awaits you at the airport with a sign with your name on it.

all rates are daytime rates, after 10PM it is common that rates go up a $10.- for the closer areas and a additional $20.- for the Uvero Alto area.
