Here's my insanely long review of my flowers I just got yesterday
I received my flowers yesterday. Since Angel couldn’t do my order in time, I just ordered stems from Angels Accents, and had them shipped to my aunt who owns and manages a high end floral shop in Quebec city, so I knew I could trust her to put them together nicely for me. Initially I had thought of putting them together myself (I’m crafty and have heard of other people putting together their own flowers) but I was a bit concerned about doing the boutonniere and I just figured for the cost of shipping why not have a professional do it?
So I want to start by saying that I emailed Angel on January 4th asking if she could do my flowers (website at the time was saying they couldn’t take anymore weddings before I think April, except for some destination weddings) and she said yes she could do it because february was actually a little slow. I took 2 weeks to think it over and make sure I wanted to go with this option rather than real flowers, and then filled out the official quote form and told them I wanted to go ahead with the order. The same day I emailed them pictures of the flowers I wanted and told them I had submitted my quote (in fact my subject was “pictures for quote submitted). Well I never got a reply until the end of the week and was told that they never received my quote form and I had to send another one. So I filled it out again - a bit disappointed that a whole week had been wasted and that they didn’t let me know right away that they didn’t get my quote form. Also I had called mid-week when I got no response to my quote, but they never answered and their phone voicemail was always full. Then I got a reply saying they couldn’t do my flowers anymore because they were too busy. I know it is in part my fault for having took 2 weeks to think it over, but it’s also partially their fault for taking a week to let me know they never received my quote (which I know I sent, so there must have been a problem with their website or something). Anyways, needless to say I was really disappointed but I knew that it was largely (although not completely) my own fault.
I contacted them a week later to ask if I could order just the stems from them, and Staci said for sure so I said what I thought I needed and she gave me a quote. I wrote back and asked about the cost difference to ship them to the US (my parents were there for the winter) or to Ottawa through fedex or USPS (united states postal service, which then goes to Canada post) to avoid custom charges with UPS. I also asked them to add some grass to my order to make loops. She wrote back a very snappy/rude email saying that they do what they can to avoid customs and that if I don’t like it I can buy my flowers elsewhere! She also was rude that I asked them to add to my order when I hadn’t even paid for my order yet. I was very shocked by her rudeness since I had simply inquired about other shipping options and never implied the customs charge was their fault. Also, it seemed to make sense to me to add one more thing to my order before paying, rather than having to make a payment twice! Finally, I had called earlier to pay by credit card but no answer so I had left a voicemail and nobody had called me back!
Anyways, her rude email upset me and worried me a lot so I wrote back apologizing for anything I had said to upset her and told her I really appreciated them selling me the flowers. I told her to forget about the grass and just use whatever method she wanted to ship me the flowers – I was so worried that they would turn me down again and I wouldn’t get the flowers! I also applied for pay pal account (had never used it before) and sent the payment right away.
After that everything went fine, they shipped the package fedex (which was great as I wasn’t charged customs, so I suggest you request this in the future. They charged the same flat about, 45$ no matter the shipping method). It ended up being shipped to me instead of to my aunt but I caught it right away and sent Stacey an email and it took a few days but Stacey eventually got it changed (actually the package was in my city, Ottawa, by the time it was changed to go to Quebec).
So all is well that ends well. Based on my experience though I would warn that Stacey can be a bit rude or testy, also they never answer their phone and the voicemail is almost always full (again this is my experience only).
I notice on their website that they are no longer taking orders for weddings before October. For anyone who wants her flowers I would strongly recommend buying the stems and either putting them together yourself or getting a local florist to do it for you. I saved probably about 30% of the cost by ordering the stems myself (I only saved 30$ from what I had initially been quoted, but I had tons of flowers left so I could have ordered less and saved about 60$ on my 230$ order)
When I received my flowers yesterday shipped from my aunt my initial reaction was surprise/slight disappointment only because
a) the bouquet arrangements were slightly different than the inspiration pictures (to be expected since it was a different florist arranging them)
b) the flowers themselves didn’t look quite as nice in the picture. The pink amaryllis are bigger than I thought (although my aunt had phoned to tell me this) and also at first I thought not as nice as they look the slightest bit wilted around the edge but I guess that’s just to make them look more real. The white orchids are a bit cheap looking, they are definitely not as nice as the green ones, although once in an arrangement they look very nice, it’s just on their own they don’t look as nice
c) They don’t feel as real as I was expecting (I had very high expectations based on all the reviews I read and pictures I saw here and on the angel’s website). They are kinda a rubbery feeling, not velvety like real flowers. Then again my FH thought his boutonnier felt real (see comment below)
It’s almost like when you look at them in photos (both on the website and my photos here) they look airbrushed and perfect, but when looking at them in real life they are just little less nice (not a lot, just a tiny bit)
However that being said I am very very happy with my flowers, it’s just my initial reaction was a little strange, I was not jumping of joy.
So now here are the pics.
MY BOUQUET (pink amaryllis, white callas, white orchids, lime green orchids)
Inspiration photos (I wanted like the one with white flowers, but with the amaryllis like the other photo)

I am so glad my aunt did it because I never could have put this together myself, with the flowers being such different shapes and sizes. I would not recommend putting together a more complicated bouquet like this yourself (just my opinion, but maybe it would be okay).
The pink amaryllis are a little less prominent then the inspiration picture, but I’m sure she did it like that because the flowers are really big
