Catholic Jewish Wedding Ceremony by Minister

I need your suggestions. Mark is Jewish and I'm Catholic, we're doing our legal ceremony at home and our symbolic in Cabo on the beach by a minister. We are trying to incorporate both faiths, we're signing a Ketubah before the ceremony and so far I think we're doing the following:

Opening Remarks

Explanation of the Ketubah

Acknowledging Loved ones who have died

General marriage blessings and prayers

Remarks by the officiant

Affirmation of the families and of the guests

Exchange of vows

Exchange of rings

Lighting the unity candle

Closing readings

Breaking of the glass

Kiss

Any suggestions, opinions?

Thank you for your help

Your ceremony lineup looks great - what specific advice were you looking for? There are lots of other beautiful and symbolic components from the Jewish faith, but it is just a matter of how much you wanted to incorporate.

As long as you are working closely with your officiant to create just the right blend of your backgrounds, you will love your ceremony. That is the most important thing.

Also - I highly recommend that your officiant explain anything and everything that pertains to a religious tradition or ritual, so everyone feels included.

Hope that helps,

Debbi

Hi Debbi,

Here is a helpful tip for you when replying to threads - always check the date the thread was started and when the last post was - if you look up at Sandra's info - you will see that she posted this in February 2008 and her wedding (already happened) was in March 2008.

Thanks,
Alyssa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
