We had such an amazing response to our invitations that we decided to share our Invitation Making Adventure!

 

 

So after the excitement of the proposal, we decided what better way to marry your dream love, then to have a dream wedding. We both thought it would be truly special to be married on the beach in paradise. The next step was to find the perfect invitation, and our research brought us to our “message in a bottle†.

 

 

 

Though you can order pre-made message in a bottle invitations, we decided to make them ourselves! (Supplies from SandArtSupplies.com) First we started by filling the bottles with sand and shells:

 

 

After an AMAZING Bride (THANK YOU SO MUCH) on this Forum shared her invitation template with us, we customized it and printed our invitations. We cut each one to the appropriate size and then burned the edges to give them an aged appearance…

 

…and this is how it turned out:

 

 

Next we rolled each invitation with blue Raffia and attached tags to pull the invitations from the bottles (check out the real starfish attached to each one)

 

 

Now, there still was a great deal of information we needed to tell people about the logistics of the wedding, so we decided to create mini-passports that would contain all the exciting details of our special day. (These were made with postcards from Vistaprint, and the inside hads all the info on the resort printed on our home computer)

 

 

How better to have our guests RSVP then to rip of a portion of a faux boarding pass and send it in as their response? And, hence, our boarding pass RSVPs were born (These I ordered for EllasPaper on Etsy- I highly recommend them!!!)…

 

 

Finally, we needed a wonderful way to safely send all of these great pieces to our guest. So, what better way to send them out, than in little suitcases…handmade, of course. (This was a lot of work, but easy - ribbon, metal fasteners and craft foam sheets from Michaels - oh and we folded the boxes inside out so they were brown instead of white)

Those are amazing probably the best i have ever seen! you should start your own business! Do you have the template for the invite still that you could share or the original posting? Again those are amazing im in awe

These are beautiful! Just curious... How much did you spend to make these? I only ask because we also did Message in a Bottle invites but did not do the luggage part of it. I loved it and so did everyone else but we paid someone to do them and it was a pretty penny, $1425 to be exact!

I love the little suitcases. I am also doing MIB, my supplies came in the other day, and all I could think was...ugh what am I going to do about these white boxes?
