I am trying to book my wedding at the GP Lady Hamilton but I am having a hard time communicating with the Wedding Coordinator, Jascynthia. Can anyone help me understand the wedding packages? Can you do the Romance or Tropical and rent the Blue Lagoon for a private dinner receptionhuh.gif Also is anyone doing a cocktail hour in between the ceremony and reception?

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Welcome! I also haven't had any luck with a response from Jascynthia, but I met with the previous coordinator Charmaine when I was there in September. She told me that you could rent the Blue Lagoon for $300, to have a private dinner reception with the Tropical package, but you would have to pick a set menu, which would carry a per-person charge which would be higher than the $50/person for the Caribbean package.

Hope that helps.... happy planning!

Hello. I did send Jascynthia an email last week on Thursday for additional info on the wedding packages and she responded the same day. We went back and forth twice and there was no problem. I know some of the other ladies have been having a hard time getting through to her so I was shocked when she responded. I did have a hard time reaching the previous coordinator Charmaine. So most of the info that I received was from on this board and from Palladium Addict. When I spoke to Jascynthia she told me that since I picked the Tropical Package we would be having the reception in the Poseidon restaurant and that I would have to select my menu two months before the wedding.

Wow-- maybe things are calming down for her. I should try to reach her again.

Did she tell you how much the per-person charge would be to have a private dinner with the Tropical Package? Also, what did she say about having music, etc. at Poseidon? Charmaine told me you could not have music or entertainment there.

Hello GPLH Brides, it is extremely frustrating that we are all getting different information. It would be nice to know that we are all being charged the same rates for the same things. I am truly upset at the lack of ideas being suggested. Jascynthia knows the resort and as a wedding coordinator (which we are paying for), she should be more helpful in menu picking, venue decorating, etc. I've seen the preset menu's and I would prefer to create my own. I was not told that I had to give them 2 months notice....I have to check on that one! We have 30 people coming, I've picked the Tropical Wedding Ceremony and am under the impression that it's an additional $30 pp after 8 ppl at least that is the agreement that I signed states. I'm getting extremely nervous as time is ticking and I want everything to be perfect. I will let you know what I find out about 'creating your own menu'.

I find the only way to get in touch with Jascythia is to stay on her or to call her direct.

Good Luck fellow GPLH brides :)

Cheers

Hey ladies.

I have actually gotten in contact with Jascynthia. I didn't get into all the details with her about the differences in the packages. We basically knew what the differences between the packages were from Charmaine and previous posts. If you want your reception private, you have to pick the $50 per person beyond 8ppl package and then pay an additional $300 to rent the blue lagoon. You can rent it for 3 hours and then pay an additional $100 per hour to rent for longer. You can hire a band or DJ and this is the only way to have a speaker system, so an ipod will not work unless you bring your own speakers to the resort. I wrote to Jascynthia about this and she said she'd forward my concerns onto the manager. No response from him unfortunately.

Thought this was supposed to be the easy way to get married huh? I decided to wait until 2 months before my wedding, b/c it seems like you don't get any responses from them until your wedding is in queue.

Hope that helps.

I'm waiting to here from her on the above. She asked how many guests I had and said that since I picked the Tropical Package the wedding would be held in the Poseidon Restaurant. She didn't state any extra per person charge except for the $30.00 per person that is included in t he package. When I spoke to Charmaine she did tell me that reservations would be made for my guests in one of the restaurants but she never told me which one. She also never gave me a price. Still waiting....I will get with you ladies as soon as I hear anything.

Thank you all for the info!! You all are great!!! I still have not heard back from Jascynthia!!! I really would like to book at this resort but I am having second thoughts.

What are you girls using for ceremony musichuh.gif I wanted to do a steel drum band or something like that but Jascynthia said you would have to pay for 1hour and the cermony will only be 15 minutes. And the reception is 2 hours later.

Thanks!!!

Hi girls - So I still have not received an email back from Jascynthia, but she did email my travel agent......and this is what she said:

The Caribbean Package includes up to 8 persons (including the bride and groom). Any additional person who attends the wedding attracts a cost of US$50 ea. This will provide additional chairs, chair covers, champagne and cake. (To cover everyone). For dinner, you have a choice of the menus that are included in this package. (The ones that say “Caribbean Pkg” on top). Once you have chosen the menu you prefer, we will book the entire group that attended the ceremony and paid the per person charge, in one of the a la carte restaurants and serve the chosen menu. This booking will not be private as the a la carte restaurant will have others dining (only the menu is special in this case). If you do not want to dine with other guests you may pay USD300.00 and we will guarantee privacy in one of the restaurants (only your group will dine there).

For the tropical package, it includes up to 8 persons (including the bride and the groom). Any additional person who attend the wedding will attract a cost of US30.00 per person. This will provide additional chairs and coves , champagne and cake for everbody. For dinner, we will book your group in one of our ala carte restaurants. They will choose from the regular restaurant menu, one of each course which is then used to make a set menu for the wedding group. The restaurant will also have other diners. If privacy is required you pay the USd300.00 venue fee.

For the romance package, it includes up to 8 persons (including the bride and the groom). Any additional person who attend the wedding will attract a cost of US40.00 per person.

That is really interesting... so, according to that, you could book one the Tropical or Romance package, and just pay the $300 fee plus the lower per-person charge ($30, $40) to have a private reception! The reason I went with the Caribbean package is because Charmaine told me that the per-person charge for a private dinner would be higher than $50/person if you did a private dinner with one of the less expensive packages!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
